50TH ANNIVERSARY SEASON GETS STARTED ON SATURDAY, APRIL 7TH
RAIN HAS MOVED THE PRACTICE SESSION TO APRIL 6

BECHTELSVILLE, PA March 31, 2012 . . . One of the busiest seasons in Grandview Speedway history gets the green flag at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 7th. More than 40 events can be found on the official schedule for the one-third-mile, banked clay track celebrating its 50th anniversary season and all of them have been under the promotional reins of the Rogers family.
Before the season officially gets started the practice session that was rained out on Saturday (March 31) has been reset for Friday, April 6th and will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The three hour practice is open to all divisions of competition. Fans having purchased season tickets will be able to pick their reserved seats at the practice session and season tickets will be available for sale.
Admission for practice is free to the public in the grandstands and there is a $30 pit fee for race teams.
Race teams are reminded that everyone entering the pit areas on Saturday, April 7th will be required to have a NASCAR license and license information and applications will be available at the practice session.
When racing officially gets the green on Saturday nine time NASCAR 358 Modified champion Jeff Strunk will kick off defense of his title and start his chase for an unprecedented 10th champion driving the Norm Hansell owned No. 357 Norm’s Save Station 358 Modified. Chuck Schutz will be shooting for his sixth Late Model title and in the all new Sportsman stock car division it is anyone’s guess as to who will be a factor in the battle for that championship.
All three racing divisions will be battling for extra prize money courtesy of T.P. Trailers of Limerick, PA. The Modified feature winner will earn an extra $250 making for a total first place payoff of $2750 provided the winning car has T.P.Trailers decals clearly visible on each side. The Late Model winner and Sportsman winner will each get an extra $100 each week provided the T.P. Trailers decals are clearly visible on each side of the race car.
In addition there will be a $50 Hard Charger award for the Modifieds sponsored by Bobby Gunther Walsh and his sponsors, a $25 Hard Charger Award for Late Models courtesy of Salvage Transport Co. owned by former Late Model racing standout Jeff Teets and a $25 Hard Charger award for the Sportsman sponsored by Searock’s Lawn Care of Bath, PA. In addition the Halfway Leader in each feature will receive two giant hoagies each week courtesy of Dan’s Deli in Boyertown, PA. And the Texas Roadhouse in Trexlertown, PA will give two dinners to each feature winner each race night.
Admission for adults for the Saturday night season opener is just $15 while youngsters under 12 will be admitted FREE. There is free parking on the grounds of the speedway.
Coming up on Saturday, April 14th is the 50th Anniversary Special with 50-lappers for the NASCAR 358 Modifieds, Late Models and Sportsman racers.
