MORE PERKS ANNOUNCED FOR GRANDVIEW RACERS, PRACTICE DAY QUICKLY APPROACHING

BECHTELSVILLE, PA March 16, 2012 . . . Every dollar is needed and put to good use. Just ask any racer on the weekly short track racing circuit.
With that in mind NASCAR sanctioned Grandview Speedway’s management has announced a couple of more perks that will be putting cash in the pockets of their Saturday night stock car racers this season.
WAEB-790AM radio personality Bobby Gunther Walsh, a long time NASCAR 358 Modified racer at Grandview, has announced that he is posting $50 cash each week for the Hard Charger in the NASCAR 358 Modified division. The award is posted on behalf of his more than 30 sponsors that are involved with his race team.
The Gunther Hard Charger award will go to the driver that gains the most positions in the Saturday night NASCAR 358 Modified feature race from official starting position to official finishing position.
Former Late Model racing standout Jeff Teets and his Salvage Transport Co. will post a $25 cash Hard Charger award for competitors in the Saturday night Late Model feature. Again the cash will go to the driver able to gain the most positions from official starting position to official finishing position.
Already in place is the T.P. Trailers awards that give $250 to the NASCAR 358 Modified feature winner on Saturday nights, $100 to the Late Model feature winner and $100 to the Sportsman feature winner. The winner’s race car must have 6 inch by 10 inch T.P. Trailer decals in clearly visible locations on both sides of their race cars to earn the cash awards.
And there is the Dinners for Winners program that gives the winning driver in each Saturday night division of racing dinner for two at the Texas Roadhouse Restaurant in Trexlertown, PA.
All of these awards will in place when the 50th annual anniversary season kicks off officially on Saturday, April 7, 7 p.m. with a tripleheader show featuring the NASCAR 358 Modifieds, Late Models and Sportsman racers. Adult admission will be just $15 while youngsters 12 and under will be admitted FREE.
The 50th anniversary celebration really gets going when 50-lap features will be presented for the 358 Modifieds, Late Models and Sportsman racers on Saturday, April 14th at 7 p.m.
The annual Free-To-The-Public practice session is set for Saturday, March 31st, 12 noon and will feature all divisions of racing as they test and tune to be ready for the start of the new season. At 6 p.m., after the practice sessions have been completed there will be NEETS Enduro racing along with Blast From The Past Vintage Car competition. NEETS will present their Spring Fling including a 150-lap Small Car Enduro, 150 laps for the Big Cars and a 25-lap Ladies race. Admission for those events will be $10.
Season tickets are still available for the 50th anniversary season for just $325. The season ticket includes a reserved seat to all Saturday night racing events during the 50th anniversary season.
