RISLONE URC SPRINT SERIES

RISLONE URC SPRINT SERIES TO CROWN CHAMPION & ROOKIE OF THE YEAR AT PPB SEASON FINALE AT GRANDVIEW SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15

With twenty-one Rislone URC events in the books for 2011, the season finale is set for this Saturday night, October 15 at the Grandview Speedway. The Rislone URC sprints will be part of the Grandview Thunder 5-25's features only program that will get underway at 6 PM. The URC feature is sponsored by Pioneer Pole Buildings and will pay a hefty $3,000 to the winner. Courtesy of Viper-Venom, an addition $1,000 bonus is posted should the winner be running Viper-Venom fuel and displaying a decal. The battle for the URC Championship will again go down to the final race as seven time URC Champion Curt Michael eyes an eight title. Last year, Michael was second in the point chase going into the last race and won the title. This year, Michael driving the Bill Gallagher Valley Forge entry is leading the points heading into Grandview. JJ Grasso, the 2009 URC Champion is challenging Michael for the 2011 championship, and finished second to Michael in the point battle last year.

Along with the crowning of the URC champion the 2011 Rookie of the Year will be announced. At mid-season, URC announced that they would not have a banquet as a cost cutting opportunity for the race teams. Numerous special awards, including the Manufacturers Award and the Chip Reward will be presented along with the point fund payoff. In addition to the point fund money that will be paid out on October 15, URC already distributed $15,000 in point fund money to car owners through the Rislone Loyalty Program during the second half of the season.

The feature only event at Grandview will be a point race with the feature line-up inverting the top twelve in points, thirteenth through twentieth will line-up straight-up based off their position in points.

Joining URC in the House of Thunder Halloween Party and Grandview Thunder 5'25's will be the Modifieds, ARDC Midgets, Sportsman and Legends along with the Legend Owners Race, the Garden State Vintage Cars and the night will end with the MONSTER Smash Demolition Derby.

On Saturday, October 15, the pit gates will open at 2:30 PM with the front gates opening at 4 PM. Race time is set for 6 PM. In the event of rain, Sunday, October 16 will be the rain date and the show will get underway at 4 PM.
