FAN FAVORITE GRANDVIEW THUNDER 5-25's RETURN TO THE HILL ON SATURDAY NIGHT, OCTOBER 15

The award winning NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series will close out a monumental season at the Grandview Speedway on Saturday, October 15 with the traditional House of Thunder Halloween Party and the Grandview THUNDER 5-25's features only event. Gates will open Saturday at 4 PM with race time set for 6 PM. The five feature season end shoot out will offer much more, including the Garden State Vintage Stock Cars, the Vince's Towing Legend Owners Race and the nightcap, a MONSTER SMASH Demolition Derby. The five showcase divisions include the 358 NASCAR Modifieds competing in the $3,000 to win BPG sponsored feature, the $3,000 to win Pioneer Pole Building URC feature event, the ARDC Midgets, the BFP Specialty Sportsman and the R.M. Palmer Candy Company Legends feature.

The features only event will begin at 6 PM with the 25 lap Palmer Candy Legends feature followed by the ARDC Midgets, the 10 lap Vince's Towing Legend Owners race and BFP Specialty Sportsman feature. There will be warm-ups for the Modifieds and URC Sprints followed by the 12 lap Vintage Car feature. the nightcap will showcase the $3,000 to win BPG 25 lap 358 Modified feature and the $3,000 to win PPB URC Feature. The homestretch will then transform to be the battleground for the Monster Smash Demolition Derby.

Spectators are invited to dress up for the Halloween event and perhaps win some prizes for the best costume. An annual tradition is, fans in costumes may also join in on the always joyous victory lane celebration photos. R.M. Palmer Candy Company will also have some treats for ghostly fans.

As you can imagine, an all star cast of competitors will be on hand with the best of five divisions. In the BPG 358 Modifieds, we expect Duane Howard, Craig VonDohren, Jeff Strunk, Kevin Hirthler, Ryan Godown and Doug Manmiller. URC will have their point championship decided in their twenty-five lap feature that will include four time winner this season JJ Grasso, defending and seven time URC champion Curt Michael, Dave Ely, Kramer Williamson, Ed Aikin, Robbie Stillwaggon and Randy West. In the BFD Sportsman field, entries include Mike Loney, Doug Hendricks, Kevin Beach, Jared Umbenhauer, Brad Brightbill, Sammy Piazza and Mike Mammana. In the ARDC line-up, expect Steve, Tim and Bruce Buckwalter, Ryan Watt, Eric Heydenreich, Ryan Smith and Brett Arndt. Last by not least, Legend entries include Scott Gobrecht, Harlon Leppo, Tim Henry and Mike Roberts. More than 120 race cars will fill the Grandview pits for this event.

The Vince's Towing Legend Owners Race will return to the Grandview Thunder program. This ten lap event is for the 358 Modifieds and is open to any Car Owner who has not raced for the past two years. The first place prize will be $300 and all the fame and glory that comes with winning this very challenging events. $200 will be paid for second with $100 going to the third place finisher. Legend Owners are asked to pre-enter by calling Bob Miller at 443-513-4456. Please be sure to provide you name and car number.

It's a big night of racing filled with talented drivers and great racing along with five premier divisions, without the hours of qualifying usually associated with most racing events.
