Racing Will Go On Sunday At Big Diamond Speedway - Finale of Coalcracker 100, Roadrunner 20 plus Enduro Nationals Set At Big D

MINERSVILLE, PA - Despite heavy rains during the week, racing will go on at Big Diamond Speedway Sunday.

While much of Central Pennsylvania is submerged in water, the Minersville, Pa., oval has survived the wet weather and the three-eighths-mile clay oval is race ready for the resumption of the 31st Coalcracker 100 on Sunday at 6 p.m. Gates open at 4 p.m.

The event was postponed by heavy rain last Sunday after 28 laps with 2009 Coalcracker winner Ryan Godown of Ringoes, N.J., leading 13th-starter Jeff Strunk of Bechtelsville, Pa., Billy Pauch Jr. of Frenchtown, N.J., six-time Coalcracker winner Duane Howard of Oley, Pa., and Mike Gular of Green Lane, Pa. The Coalcracker 100 winner earns $10,000.

The 20-lap Wooden Keg Tavern Roadrunner feature postponed from last Sunday will also be contested as part of Coalcracker "take two" at Big Diamond.

Wristbands and rain checks will be honored on Sunday for the final 72 laps of the Coalcracker 100 and the Roadrunner 20-lapper. Rain checks must be presented at the gates. Those not able to attend last week can pay a reduced $15 rate for general admission or $25 to enter the pit area (no license required).

The first Enduro Nationals, 139 laps paying $2,000 to the winner, will follow the conclusion of the Coalcracker 100 next Sunday. Once the Coalcracker 100-lapper and Roadrunner events are completed, the pits and grandstands will be cleared for the Enduro event. Grandstand general admission for the Enduro Nationals is $10 and pit admission is $25 (no license required).

Pre-registration will be $100/per car (if 50 cars do not register it will revert to a regular Enduro and Big Diamond management will refund half the registration cost). All cars are welcome with home track rules applying.

All cars must have a four-point cage with three door bars on driver's side, DOT street tires only (no studded tires), a fire extinguisher, fire suit and dirt-track racing approved helmet, racing seat, approved racing belts, no bars extending further forward than the upper control arm and stock OEM engine parts.
