BPG RACING SIGNS TO SPONSOR THE $50,000 TO WIN 42ND ANNUAL BPG RACING FREEDOM 76 MODIFIED CLASSIC AT GRANDVIEW IN 2012

BECHTELSVILLE, PA September 22, 2011 . . . The talk of the auto racing world, at least in the short track racing industry, has been the announcement by track owner Bruce Rogers that the 42nd annual BPG Racing Freedom 76, set for Saturday, September 15th, 2012, at his Grandview Speedway will pay $50,000 to win.
With the track celebrating their 50th anniversary season Rogers felt this will be a great way to top off the 2012 season and say thanks to all for their support over the years modified racing has been presented at the Berks County, PA oval.
The first place offering could very well make the BPG Racing Freedom 76 the richest short track modified event in the nation figuring that it will be 76 laps on a one-third-mile, banked clay oval and means it will be paying just a few dollars short of $2,000 a mile.
Blue Bell, PA businessman Chad Sinon was so excited about the news that he quickly jumped on board to announce that his BPG Racing would continue as the sponsor of the annual classic and is planning to “bump up his involvement.”
Duane Howard drove the BPG Racing sponsored No. 4 Modified to victory in the BPG Racing sponsored event on Saturday, September 17th earning more than $21,000 for his efforts. Howard nosed out Alan Johnson by less than a car length to win giving him his fourth career victory in the classic clay track event.
“We did not have a great season but we had a very good season at Grandview,” said Sinon. “Winning the Freedom 76 with Duane was a tremendous thrill for all of us. I can’t say enough about all the good that the Rogers family does for the sport and it is an honor for me and my family to continue to have our name associated with such a great event.”
To end any rumors that are circulating Duane and BPG Racing will be back to try for another title at Grandview in 2012. After winning the NASCAR Whelen All American 358 Modified title in 2010 the team finished second to nine time champion Jeff Strunk this season.
“We will be looking to take the title again in 2012 and win the BPG Racing Freedom 76,” said the popular car owner. “We want to make it a banner season for us at Grandview.”
Plans for the 2012 season at Grandview Speedway are in the making and opportunities for sponsorship during the 50th anniversary season will be announced in the near future.
Businesses having interest in being included on the mailing list for information on the event sponsorship, billboards and program book advertising for 2012 may email Ernie Saxton Communications, Inc. at Esaxton144@aol.com or telephone 215.752.7797.
