$10,000 TO WIN MAKES FORREST ROGERS MEMORIAL A POPULAR EVENT AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY

BECHTELSVILLE, PA August 6, 2011 . . . The race is to remember the man who had the idea and made it become a reality.
The $10,000 to win is the Rogers family way of saying thanks to the racers who support the track throughout the season.
On Saturday, August 13th, many of the top talents in the sport will be testing their skills at Grandview Speedway when the 41st Annual Forrest Rogers Memorial presented by Pioneer Pole Buildings is presented with $10,000 plus lap money going to the winner.
Unfortunately the late Forrest Rogers did not live long enough to see his track become the huge success that it is. Today Grandview Speedway, a one-third-mile, banked clay track located in Bechtelsville, PA, is considered one of the most successful NASCAR weekly short track operations in the nation.
On Saturday night, August 13th, 7:30 p.m. defending NASCAR Whelen All American Series 358 Modified champion Duane Howard will be going for his second straight win in the Forrest Rogers Memorial. However it will not be an easy task as the Oley, PA veteran goes up against eight time track champion Jeff Strunk who has won this race twice but has not been in victory lane at the finish of the big money event since 2000. Six time track champion Craig VonDohren has won the Classic four times and will be looking for win number five.
Others entered that have won in the past include Ray Swinehart (2 wins), Meme DeSantis (two wins), Terry Meitzler (one win) and Ryan Godown (one win). However there are a long list of top talents that will be hungry for the thrill of their first win in the rich event that goes 50-laps. There will be a series of qualifying races leading up to the main event and that could very well leave some of the top racers sitting on the sidelines if they can not do well in those races.
Included in the exciting night of racing action will be the NASCAR Late Model stocks cars topping their part of the night that remembers Forrest Rogers with a 20-lap feature race.
Adult admission is just $20 for this annual classic while youngsters 6 through 11 pay just $5 and kids under 6 are admitted FREE.
Grandview Speedway is located at 43 Passmore Road, just off Route 100, in Bechtelsville, PA, 10 miles north of Pottstown. For information telephone 610.754.7688 or check in at www.grandviewspeedway.com.
