TAYLOR & MESSICK DELAWARE STATE SPRINT SERIES. . . . . .

RANDY WEST DOMINATES RISLONE URC SPRINTS AS DAVEY SAMMONS THRILLS THE LARGE CROWD FRIDAY NIGHT AT GEORGETOWN SPEEDWAY

Georgetown, DE . . . . The Rislone URC Sprint Series invaded the Georgetown Speedway and a large crowd filled the grandstands on Friday night. Randy West of Boyertown, PA dominated the entire night from winning his heat race as well as leading the entire twenty-five lap distance to earn $2,000 for winning the feature event. Bordentown, NJ driver Davey Sammons absolutely thrilled the crowd with numerous moves that brought the fans to the edge of their seats earning an impressive third place finish in the feature event. For West, driving the Fred's Trailer Parts sprint car, it was his first win of the season and fourth career victory with the United Racing Company. For the Rislone URC Sprints, West was their eighth different feature winner in nine events.

The Taylor & Messick Delaware State Sprints Series took part in the Friday night event at Georgetown with heat race victories going to Randy West, Kramer Williamson and Robbie Stillwaggon.

The field was called to the post to start the twenty-five lap and at the drop of the green flag, Randy West clearly established himself at the man to beat. Kramer Williamson ran second with Robbie Stillwaggon also in sight of the race leader. On lap nine, Stillwaggon moved into second but ran short of time to challenge the leader.

At the halfway point of the race, West, Williamson and Rory Jenney made-up the top three followed by Josh Weller and Ed Aikin. On lap fifteen, Ed Aikin made contact with Tim Higgins and Aikin took a wild flip in turn two. Aikin walked away uninjured but the car was badly damaged.

On the restart, West, Williamson and Janney had the front of the field covered with Josh Weller and Stillwaggon now making up the top five. On lap twenty-one, the yellow was displayed when fourth place runner Josh Weller developed a steering problem and limped back to the pits.

When green flag racing resumed, Randy West was firmly in control. Davey Sammons now moved into the picture, racing up high where very few have raced over the past few years. Sammons moved into on lap twenty-one and one lap later, he was racing third. In the final laps, West remained the pace setter and Sammons was challenging Kramer Williamson for second.

West took the win with Kramer Williamson second and Davey Sammons finishing an impressive third as Rory Janney finished fourth with Becca Anderson fifth.
