CHAD SINON/BPG MOTORSPORTS BUMPS WINNERS SHARE TO $8,500

FOR TRAFFIC JAM VICTORY AT GRANDVIEW WEDNESDAY NIGHT, AUGUTS 3RD, $20 ADULT ADMISSION

Big bucks are up for grabs for the winner of the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series 14th Annual TRAFFIC JAM for modifieds to take place at the Grandview Speedway on Wednesday night, August 3rd. Event sponsor Chad Sinon/BPG Motorsports has sweetened the winners share from $5,000 to $8,500 for winning the 60 lap TRAFFIC JAM that will be sanctioned by the Race of Champions. The August 3rd event will mark the fourteenth annual TRAFFIC JAM and past winners include Craig VonDohren in 2010, Brett Hearn, Billy Decker, Alan Johnson, Tim Fuller, Timmy McCreadie, Frank Cozze and Jimmy Horton. Brett Hearn is a four time winner of the TRAFFIC JAM. Joining the modifieds on the program will be the Sportsman competing in a 40 lap feature event. Admission price for this Modified & Sportsman Doubleheader is $20 for adults, children 6-11 is $5 and children under the age of 6 will be admitted for free. In the event of rain, the following night, Thursday, August 4th will be the rain date. Gates open at 5 PM with race time set for 7:30 PM..

The modifieds will qualify through a series of heat race events and a consolation all leading up to the $8,500 to win TRAFFIC JAM. The ROC sportsman will share the program also qualifying through heat race events, a consolation and a 40 lap feature event. Ryan Godown, recent winner of the ROC Battle At Lincoln is an early entry for the 2011 TRAFFIC JAM.

One very special activity that takes place during the annual TRAFFIC JAM event is FAN FEST. Weather permitting, the track gate at the flag stand will swing open after the TRAFFIC JAM starting field is staged on the homestretch. With the starting field, spectators from the grandstands are invited to come on to the speedway and do a meet and greet with the TRAFFIC JAM drivers. Fans are encouraged to bring their camera's and even a program book to collect autographs and photos.

Earlier in the night, race fans may also take part in the Inside/Out Promotion, allowing fans to watch the warm-ups from inside turn four. It's a great viewing location and you'll feel the ground vibrate when the modifieds power off turn four and charge down the homestretch.

Expected modified entries include Billy Decker, Matt Sheppard, Brett Hearn, Stewart Friesen, Duane Howard, Craig VonDohren, Doug Manmiller, MeMe DeSantis, Kevin Hirthler, Mike Gular , Rick Laubach, Billy Pauch and Rusty Smith. The longer distance events at Grandview always provide some excitement. In the 2010 TRAFFIC JAM, Craig VonDohren of Oley, PA upset the competition, driving a small block modified, VonDohren caught the leaders in the closing laps to pocket the $6,000 first place prize.
