FORREST ROGERS MEMORIAL SET FOR AUGUST 13TH AT GRANDVIEW, LAP SPONSORSHIPS NOW AVAILABLE

BECHTELSVILLE, PA July 7, 2011 . . . The annual Forrest Rogers Memorial, a 50-lap race for NASCAR 358 Modifieds paying $10,000 to win, is set at Grandview Speedway for Saturday, August 13th. New this year is sponsorship from Pioneer Pole Buildings of Schuylkill Haven, PA.
Pioneer provides quality post frame buildings.
The company has become an ardent supporter of the sport. Their name/logo can be found on a number of area race cars and they are involved in sponsorship of several area events. This will be Pioneer’s first involvement in sponsorship of a Saturday night NASCAR event at Grandview.
One of the most prestigious races in the tri-state area the race is run in memory of the man who was responsible for the plan to build the one-third-mile, banked clay track and carried out the plan with the track opening in August, 1963. Next year will be the 50th anniversary season for the Berks County oval and there are a variety of special activities being planned.
Bob Greene, president of Pioneer Pole Buildings, has planned a special raffle that will see lucky fans winning some tickets to the race and a group of fans will have the opportunity to view the race from one of the corporate suites that sit high above the track.
In an effort to raise funds for the Boys Club and Girls Clubs, Pioneer will raffle off a suite and five tickets to one lucky winner and then five additional tickets will be raffled off. The raffle tickets will be sold at Grandview on the July 30th and August 6th plus during the Thunder on the Hill midweek event on August 3rd. Raffle tickets will be priced at $2 each.
In addition the winner of the suite will also have a meet and greet with six time Grandview Speedway 358 Modified champion Craig VonDohren who is sponsored by Pioneer Pole Buildings.
The 50-lap race will attract a stellar field of competitors to battle for the $10,000 first place money.
In addition to the full series of qualifying events and the 50-lapper for the NASCAR 358 Modifieds there will be a full slate of Late Model racing topped by a 20-lap feature.
Lap sponsorships are available for the first time with laps selling for just $10 each with the money going to the leader of each lap in the 50-lap feature race. Lap sponsors will receive mentions on the public address system and will be acknowledged in the special edition of the track magazine. To sponsor a lap please be in touch with Ernie Saxton at 215.752.7797 or email him at esaxton144@aol.com. Lap sponsorships are also available from Marilyn Saxton at the track on Saturday nights
