Small Engine Fuel (SEF) Boosts 'Anthracite Assault' June 22 RoC Winner's Share to $5,000 - RoC Returns To Big Diamond For First Time Since 2006; New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware & Ontario To Be Represented In Strong Field
MINERSVILLE, PA - There was already a buzz surrounding the return of the Race of Champions Dirt Modified Tour to Big Diamond Speedway on Wednesday, June 22.

And the event just got richer. Thanks to recently signed marketing partner Small Engine Fuels (SEF), the winner of the 60-lap 'Anthracite Assault' will now have the opportunity to take home $5,000 in 'Coal Hard Cash' through a "gambler's" program. Competitors posting the $20 fee prior to the start of racing will earn $5,000 should they win, an increase from the standard $4,000 RoC posted purse.
"Thanks to SEF, we are able to go above and beyond the standard RoC purse for this show," said event promoter Brett Deyo. "This should be a highlight event of the Big Diamond season: a good field of invaders, RoC back for the first time since 2006 and plenty of special incentives for the racers!"

Small Engine Fuel is an ethanol-free unleaded fuel that provides easier, quicker starts for lawn mowers, chain saws, generators, leaf and snow blowers, or any other portable gasoline-powered equipment.

The stars of the traveling RoC circuit will be out, led by current Race of Champions point leader Billy Decker of Unadilla, N.Y., who won the most recent RoC event held at Penn Can (Pa.) Speedway over a 66-car field on June 7. But there is more.
Decker will be joined by his Gypsum Racing teammates at Big D: multi-time RoC champion Pat Ward of Genoa, N.Y., and exciting teenager 'Lightning' Larry Wight of Phoenix, N.Y.
'Super' Matt Sheppard of Waterloo, N.Y., now owns a guaranteed starting spot in the 'Anthracite Assault' following the June 13 Night of Qualifiers event at Five Mile Point (N.Y.) Speedway. Sheppard confirmed he would be in the field at Big Diamond with his Brownell Motorsports No. 9s.
Brett Hearn of Sussex, N.J., a past big-block winner at Big Diamond, has set plans to attend with his Madsen Motorsports No. 20 along with 2010 RoC champion Stewart Friesen of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont. Look for the hard-driving 'Doctor' Danny Johnson of Rochester, N.Y., to visit the Big D driving the Atlas Paving No. 66 fielded by Mike Petruska.
The first entrant for the Big D RoC event was demonstrative of the expected diversity in the field. Matt Jester of Milford, Del., a standout driver at Charlie Cathell's Delaware International Speedway, filed the first entry with his Clearview Farms No. 62 team. Jester, 26, makes his debut at Big Diamond that night. Jester is a guaranteed starter via his Delaware victory on May 28.
Keystone State racers will be out in force led by Big Diamond's top 358-Mod winner Craig Von Dohren of Boyertown, Pa., six-time track champion Jeff Strunk of Bechtelsville, Pa., two-time New Egypt (N.J.) Speedway point title winner Rick Laubach of Quakertown, Pa., 2010 and '07 Penn Can Modified champ Mike Gular of Green Lane, Pa., Keith Hoffman of Whitehall, Pa., a three-time Big D champion, Doug Manmiller of Shoemakersville, Pa., and many more. Sportsman standout Mike Mammana of Nazareth, Pa., is expected to pull double-duty, entering both the Modified and Sportsman events.
Among those representing New Jersey will be Wade Hendrickson of Lawrenceville, N.J., David Van Horn of Harmony, N.J., sensational Jimmy Horton of Neshanic Station, N.J., track regular Billy Pauch Jr. of Frenchtown, N.J., and more.
The 'Anthracite Assault' will be the only opportunity for big-block Modifieds to compete at the Minersville, Pa., oval in 2011.

And, of course, the high sail panels will be bolted onto the big-block/small-block Mods for the anticipated event. Small-block Modifieds (under 361 c.i.) will be rewarded with the following incentives: first across the line on gasoline - $250 cash and first across the line on methanol - $250 cash. The top-finishing Big Diamond regular in a Friday-night-legal car earns a $150 product certificate from Hoffman Speed Supplies in New Tripoli, Pa.
All lap leaders receive a can of beer from Bert Jones' Beer City located in Quakertown, Pa.
The race winner earns a guaranteed starting berth in the New Egypt Speedway $15,000-to-win 'Friends of Mike' event on July 30. Additionally, the RoC Mod victor receives two FREE pit passes to the March 2012 RoC 'Icebreaker V' at Selinsgrove (Pa.) Speedway.
An American Racer tire will be given away via a random draw courtesy of Lias Tire (Indiana, Pa.).

BD Motorsports Media holds its first ever promotion at Big Diamond for the 'Anthracite Assault' program in conjunction with Andrew Harpell from the Race of Champions.

"Mining Modified Excitement" will be the night's theme as the rumble of race engines echoes through the Anthracite Region of Pennsylvania. The 'Coal Miner's Daughter' is set to be part of the night's festivities!

The RoC Dirt Modified Tour last visited the Schuylkill County oval on July 25, 2006 with superstar Alan Johnson of Middlesex, N.Y., earning the victory. Other past RoC Modified winners include Billy Pauch Sr. of Frenchtown, N.J., (two wins) and Jeff Strunk of Bechtelsville, Pa. (one).

Joining the RoC Modifieds will be the Race of Champions Sportsman in a 30-lap event paying $1,200 to the winner and Doug Borger's XCel 600 Modifieds in a 20-lap event.

Crate engine Sportsman are permitted to run with the RoC Sportsman with a weight break. Visit the BD Motorsports Media website for details.
