A BANNER CONTEST WILL BE HELD AT THE FIRST STATE FIRECRACKER AT
GEORGETOWN SPEEDWAY

GEORGETOWN, DE (June 27, 2011) – Along with four divisions of racing
and a fireworks display, the First State Firecracker on July 1 at
Georgetown Speedway will include a banner contest. Kids are encouraged
to make banners of their favorite driver that will be showcased during
the night.

The United Racing Company (URC) Sprint Cars and Super Late Models will
share the spotlight with each division having a 25-lap feature
following qualifying events. The Bridgeport Modifieds will once again
be on the Georgetown Speedway program with a hefty purse available for
competitors. The victor of the Bridgeport Modified feature event will
walk away with $1,200 if the number of entries in the class exceeds
thirty. If the car count in the Bridgeport Modified division is thirty
or under, the winner will take home $1,000. The popular Charger class
will round out the docket. A fireworks display is scheduled to occur
during intermission.

On Friday, July 1, the pit area opens at 4:30 PM with grandstand gates
unlocking at 5:30 PM. The first qualifying event is slated to start at
7:30 PM. General grandstand admission is $20 and no charge for kids 12
and under. Admission to the pit area is $35.
