RISLONE URC SPRINT SERIES

$3,500 TO WIN. . . . . . .  .
TALENT GALORE TO TAKE PART IN 6TH ANNUAL JACK GUNN 358/360 SPRINT CHALLENGE AT SELINSGROVE SPEEDWAY SATURDAY NIGHT

You can feel the intensity of this event  when you arrive at the track.

The top drivers in  358/360 sprint car racing all come together for a mix and match show of talent as  they chase the $3,500 first place prize in the sixth running of the Jack Gunn 358/360 Sprint Challenge at Selinsgrove Speedway this Saturday night, May 14.    And what a thriller this race has been in the past, especially the last two years when Trevor Lewis passed Pat Cannon in the last turn and on the final lap.   A duplicate thrilling finish two years in a row is exactly what the fans come to see.

Trevor Lewis of Upper Black Eddy, PA won the last two Gunn Memorial events as likeable Blane Heimbach of Selinsgrove, PA won the prestigious event in 2006 and 2008 as Dave Calaman was the winner in 2007.   Lewis has taken some time off from racing and  will not be in the pits on Saturday night, but popular car owner Scott McClaren will have in familiar #21 track side with national star Shane Stewart of Bixby, OK in the seat.  Stewart is well known throughout the country for his sprint car racing success and adapts well to any ride and almost any track.   Although Trevor Lewis will not be in the field to pull off the win,  Scott McClaren will be looking for a third consecutive win as car owner in this event.

Local talent is plentiful with URC's point leader JJ Grasso and defending champion Curt Michael in the field.   Grasso is hot off a big win last weekend at the Black Rock Speedway in Dundee, NY and Michael is always one of the fastest on the big half mile at Selinsgrove.   Becca Anderson, Josh Weller, Kramer Williamson, Tim Hogue, Randy West, Robbie Stillwaggon and Jonathan Swanson are just some of URC's top runners.   Also keep an eye on URC rookie driver Troy Betts who is showing "future star" status after just three events.

Of course the field will see the likes of Blane Heimbach,  Pat Cannon,  Davie Franek, Mark Smith and even a few other big names showing up to chase the attractive payoff.   The $3,500 first place payoff is complimented with $1,000 for a fifth place finish, $500 for tenth with the event offering $225 just to take the green.

Saturday night, May 14 will offer a big night of racing with big names and a big payoff and  it all takes place at the Selinsgrove Speedway.  Race time is 7:30 PM.

The Rislone URC Sprint Series will then travel to Delaware for a two race weekend with stops at the Delaware International Speedway on Saturday, May 28 and a Sunday night stop at the Georgetown Speedway on May 29.
