KEYSTONE CUP 410 SPRINTS TO OPEN NAPA AUTO PARTS THUNDER ON THE HILL RACING SERIES AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY WEDNESDAY NIGHT, MAY 25



It doesn't get much better then the 410 sprints at Grandview Speedway and they'll be returning to the one-third mile oval on Wednesday night, May 25 to open the 22nd season of the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series.



The May 25th Thunder event will mark the ninety-eighth event since the Thunder on the Hill Racing Series presented its' first race in August of 1990 at Grandview Speedway. Through the years, the Thunder Series has taken on numerous looks, and is without a doubt one of the most diverse and unique series in short track racing. A variety of divisions have made this series one of the most popular mid-week attractions year after year.



The 2011 Thunder Series offers another eye catching selection of premier events to include the 410 Sprints and 358 Modifieds in a double-header program on Wednesday night, May 25. The series continues with the Jesse Hockett Classic for the USAC National Wingless Sprints as they team up with the ARDC Wingless Midgets on Tuesday night, May 31.



A big celebration is planned on Tuesday night, June 28 as Thunder on the Hill celebrates the 100th event in the history of the Thunder Series. The 410 Sprints and 358 Modifieds will be the showcase divisions of this anticipated celebration.



The 15th Annual Big Block Modified TRAFFIC JAM will take place on Wednesday night, August 3rd. This event will carry the ROC sanction and go a distance of 60 laps paying $5,000 to the race winner. The ROC Sportsman will be on the program as well.



The Thunder Series season finale will take place on Saturday night, October 15 with the always popular House of Thunder Halloween Party that will include a MONSTER Smash Demolition Derby, the Garden State Vintage Stock Cars and the 2nd Annual Vince's Towing Legend Owners Race.



Two Thunder Road Shows are planned and include a visit to the New Egypt Speedway on Thursday night, June 2nd when the USAC National Wingless Sprints and the Big Block Modifieds team up for a double-header. Levi Jones won the UASC thriller as Duane Howard was the winner of the modified feature in the 2010 edition of this event.



On Tuesday night, July 12 the Big Block Modifieds will return to the Lincoln Speedway after a twenty-five year absence. This event will be sanctioned by ROC and go a distance of sixty laps. Duane Howard, Rick Laubach, Doug Manmiller, Stewart Friesen, Craig VonDohren, Kevin Hirthler, Richie Pratt, Jeff Strunk and Kevin Albert have already pre-entered this wild return of the modifieds to the pigeon hills of Central Pennsylvania. Pioneer Pole Buildings (PPB), NAPA Auto Parts and MACH1 Chassis are sponsors of this blockbuster that will also showcase the 360 sprints.
