SMITH FABRICATIONS STAGE ONE MODIFIEDS HIGHLIGHT SECOND DAY OF IRCO DIRT TRACK HEROES CAR SHOW PRESENTED BY NAPA AUTO PARTS OF THE DELAWARE VALLEY

The second day of the week long 4th Annual IRCO Dirt Track Heroes Car Show presented by NAPA Auto Parts of the Delaware Valley continued to hit all marks on Monday evening as the small car divisions of racing brought out another large fan friendly crowd to the Phillipsburg Mall located in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. With 141 race cars from all divisions or series lining the vast corridors of the Mall space, the broadcasting team of Ed and Steve Pados along with Borgers Speedway announcer Bobby Stull conducted 35 plus interviews with drivers, promoters, fabricators and media members of the motorsports world with a two hour program in the former space of the Finish Line Store at the Mall. The IRCO Community Federal Credit Union took center stage kicked off the event event as Greg Collins, the Vice President of the IRCO Group, who is also well noted as the official Harmony Speedway Historian, thanked the well attended crowd for making the evening special for the small car divisions and for the many personalities on hand for the show. The evening's show sponsor "Rapid Rich" Richie Smith and his Smith Fabrications team were on hand for the show and talked about his days as one of the top performers at the Nazareth Speedway and how his new affordable Stage One Modified creations were designed to give the mildly funded teams a great car within a fair price structure and keep them involved with racing without breaking the bank.

The many drivers on hand made their way to the stage area for the interviews sessions and the multi-talented shoe Kurt Bettler kicked off the driver interviews. Chris Oraschin, Amber Oraschin, Tiffany Wambod, Anthony Schlosser-White, Shelby Harper, Jeremy Todd, JJ Uliana, Ryan Raidline, Pat Bealer, Rachel Godusky, Alyson Godusky, JR Fulper, Doug Snyder, Bobby Smith, Brett Smith, Joel Smith, Patrick Chimonik, Rick Chilmonik, Sheldon Iudicello, Nikki Quinter, Stan Friedman, Barry Suydam and Mike Caropolo were among the drivers interviewed. Kerry Meitzler from the Kutztown Speedway was on hand to talk about the exciting season ahead for his speedway and Blu Metz, the Publicity Director for the ATQMRA described the busy season ahead for his racing series that will see events at Mountain, Mahoning, Wall, Seekonk and Oswego Speedways in 2011. East Coast Modified Legend Tommy Hager was on hand and was signing autographs during the show. Keith Majka, a former driver and car owner of considerable fame at the Orange County Speedway in New York State was on hand to talk about the continuing progress at the Hinchliffe Stadium located in Paterson, New Jersey as a full fledged effort is afoot to restore the speedway back to it's former glory of hosting auto races and many additional sporting events. Keith is also responsible for the 1948 Hillegas built V8-60 powered Midget on display in the stage area. Gaetano's Restaurant located in Bath, Pennsylvania, had $20.00 gift certificates available for some interesting trivia questions offered up by the show hosts to dine at their fabulous restaurant .

The show will continue through Saturday night, March 12 and the Tuesday evening stage show is co-sponsored by Carpenters Local 260 out of Madison, New Jersey as well as the EZ Release Pro Shop that will open soon in the Phillipsburg, New Jersey area. The Phillipsburg Mall is conveniently located on Route 22 East in Phillipsburg, NJ and has been the home base for the Dirt Track Heroes show for the fourth consecutive year. The schedule on Tuesday will highlight "The Stars of Tomorrow" as a special invite has been sent out to all of the Quarter Midget Racing clubs in the area and for many of the youngsters they will have their first opportunity to interview and talk about the fun they are having being involved with racing. The show hours on Tuesday are 6 to 9 PM. All historical racing groups including Reading, Flemington, Harmony, Dorney Park and Nazareth have their vast memorabilia collections on display and their scrapbooks wide open for the fans to take another long look at the glory years of racing and possibly find a picture or two they want to purchase as a keepsake of past glory or racing exploits.

All racing divisions are well represented at the show and include big and small block Modifieds, Sportsman, Micro-Sprints, ARDC Midgets, URC Sprints, TSRS Sprints, Late Models, go-karts and a broad variety of vintage and restored race cars. Several race tracks will use this event as an opportunity to get the word out on their up-coming 2011 racing season. New Egypt, Grandview, Bridgeport, Hamlin, Kutztown, Borger's and Snydersville will again be involved in the 2011 show. The week-long event will set aside one evening to salute the "Stars of Tomorrow" with a special Tuesday night edition set aside for the budding young racing talents competing with the many quarter midget clubs in the area.

For the fourth consecutive year, CARQUEST Gasoline Alley and the Pados Brothers will host the nightly events and interviews along with some guest announcers. Bobby Stull, Joel Murns, Justin Beltrame, Pete Wortman, Nick Leach and Earl Krause have already signed on to play a part in the show. The taping of the show will be on Sunday, March 6th for a two hour span that will be aired the following evening through WALN at: http://www.walncableradio.com/

The IRCO Dirt Track Heroes Car Show will again offer a great keepsake event souvenir program book and shirt. Included in the program are stories regarding Richard Marinelli, Carl "Fuzzy" Van Horn, Bill Wimble and the origin of the CARQUEST Gasoline Alley Show. The Phillipsburg Mall is open Sunday 11 AM to 6 PM; Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 9 PM.
