Big Diamond Speedway 2011 Details & Marketing Partners Firming Up - Open Practice Session Sunday, March 27
MINERSVILLE, PA - Details continue to be firmed for the 2011 season at Big Diamond Speedway.
Preparations are underway for the 39th season of operation at the Minersville, Pa., oval, which opens its doors on Sunday, March 27 with a free-to-the-public practice session. The '11 campaign officially gets underway Sunday, April 3 with The Station House 358-Modifieds beginning their championship battle with a 35-lap feature paying $3,000 to the winner. The U.S.S. Achey Sportsman and Wooden Keg Tavern Roadrunners complete the program with a 5 p.m. start time in place.
Fans will be treated to a talent-filled 358-Modified field each week at Big Diamond to include Craig Von Dohren, Jeff Strunk, Rick Laubach, Keith Hoffman, Meme DeSantis, Ryan Godown, Billy Pauch Jr., Kevin Albert Jr., Kyle Follweiler, Ray Swinehart and others. The speedway phone has been buzzing with newcomers and returning faces in the Sportsman and Roadrunner divisions, indicating strong car counts in Coal Country for the upcoming year.
Marketing partners are steadily signing on for the '11 season at the Schuylkill County track.
Minersville NAPA Auto Parts will sponsor the July 29 program this season. Located at 331 Sunbury Street, Minersville NAPA offers auto, truck and heavy equipment parts in addition to hydraulic hoses. They can be reached by phone at 800.482.6887. A 25-lap, $1,000-to-win Sportsman Shootout offering a Coalcracker 50 guaranteed starting position will be on the card with 358-Modifieds and Roadrunners.
B's Automotive Sales and Service Center, 430 East Railroad Street in Pottsville, will serve as headline sponsor of the July 22 event which includes ARDC Midgets. Members of the Lehigh Valley Quarter Midget Racing Club will have their Quarter Midgets on display as part of the B's Automotive Sales and Service Center program.
Harry Landis of J&L Speed Supplies (Hellertown, Pa.) will serve as the official fuel supplier for the '11 campaign at Big Diamond, selling Sunoco products.
