23rd ANNUAL LEBANON RACE CAR SHOW SET TO RETURN TO THE LEBANON VALLEY MALL FEBUARY 27th




The 23rd annual Lebanon Race Car Show race vehicles are all set to return, into the Lebanon Valley Mall on Sunday night February 27th. They will enter the Mall thru the large sliding doors adjacent to the Great Escape Movie Theatre to the rear of the Mall, after 5:15 PM. Mostly all of the returning race car owners and drivers are looking foreward to showing their new or mostly new race vehicles, to the regular patrons and additional visitors wishing to see these shiny racers, that will appear shortly, on the local and regional, eastern Pennsylvania Speedways. Most of the speedway cars are capable of speeds well is excess of one-hundred M.P.H. on the local 1/3 and 1/2 mile ovals. A couple of ARCA national class Chevrolet speedway cars shown by Bobby Gerhart and Kyle Martel of Lebanon, can hit speeds of approx, two-hundred M.P.H. on a fast 2.5 mile oval super speedways. Two beautiful Lazer Late Model Cars, with Edge engines under the hood were manufactured and assembled, are being displayed by the Bernheisel Race Team of Jonestown, they are quite impressive to see. Twin 358 Modified cars from the Kevin Albert of Lebanon race team, are outstanding examples of newly re-skinned Troyer race cars. Kevin Albert collected his first Modified feature race this past season an Big Diamond Raceway. A brand new re-skinned Chevrolet Street Stock Camero style racer # 27 with a 350 Chevy engine, will be shown by Doug Hoffman of Newville Pa. Hoffman has earned the Williams Grove Speedway Street Stock Track Championship Title in 2008 and 2010, and is ready to defend last years point Crown at the Grove again this year. The NORLEBCO Quarter Midget group that normally races at Linda's Speedway on Saturdays during the summer season will show approx. ten of their shiny race cars. The Mall is saving additional room for more than a dozen recognized local race cars, that are currently in the final stages of race car preparedness. They're almost set to proudly show their attractive race cars in this years race show at the L.V. Mall.

Monday evening a special ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by sports writer Jeff Fulk, and serenaded by popular country song stylist Dean-O, will officially open the 23rd annual Lebanon Race Car Show. An impressive salute to our Nation's Armed Forces and the ever-ready emergency first responders, will be celebrated, by hard working Senator Mike Folmer and County Commissioner Larry Stohler. A special tribute to National History making Bobby Gerhart of Lebanon, whose 'Seventh Heaven' win, in the Lucas Oil Slik Mist 200 event on February 12th at Daytona International Speedway for the seventh time. Gerhart's seventh victory outclassed every other NASCAR Sprint Cup based / ARCA Menard competitor, whose nearest win record, was only three. Gerhart's small town, small budget team, recorded the prestigious history making Seventh ARCA Menard 200 victory, utilizing a mostly volunteer race team, with only one paid professional mechanic, to the amazement of most everyone in the ARCA Race Community.

Tuesday evening it is NORLEBCO Quarter Midget racing night with MC Mike Batz expected to interview all the juvenile 1/4 midget drivers on the Mall water fall center stage. Recorded music will be supplied by DJ Jimmy Payne a semi retired Sportsman Modified driver at Big Diamond Raceway.

Wednesday Dean-O returns center stage to serenade the race fans on a Speedway Entertainment night recognizing the many Sling Shot racers in the area. It's also the great Pennsylvania Young Guns group supported by B F P Specialty Suppliers of Bethel, whose members include - Michael Weimert - Jarod Umbenhauer - Danny Nicholas - Addison Meitzler - Jon Kellner jr. - Mike Gular - Mike Lisowski - AJ DeSantis - Kyle Folweiler - Carroll Hine - Billy Pauch jr. - Kevin Albert - Jordan Umbenhauer - Brad Missimer - Sam Merkel . A stout group indeed ! Benny Moyer is expected to do the Young Gun interviews.

Thursday is the annual Miss Racette Race Queen Contest with an increased winners prize of $350.00. Flowers by Grumbines of Myerstown will adorn the newly elected Miss Racette 2011 Queen with a queen's sash and crown, plus supporting gifts and prizes. Recorded music supplied by DJ Jimmy Payne will be heard before and after, the queenly contest.

Friday is Clyde Martin Speedway night with noted race columnist and speedway announcer Barry Angstat at the helm, introducing the LANCO drivers and race officials, with race schedules handily available. If possible, ARCA Menards sensation Bobby Gerhart will again be available with pass-out ARCA winning pictures. Multi-Championship United Racing Club Driver Kramer Williamson of Palmyra, will try to be there, to greet the many Sprint Car Race Fans in the Mall.

Saturday is Kids Day. Inflated balloons will be available. Sweet tasting snacks from Smith's Candy's of Myerstown will be available. A young musical group called "Tomato Face" headed by Jake Umberger, will provide lively sounds. The Lil' Miss Racette Queen Contest will start at approx. 2 PM. All young girl contestants will receive a corsage and a gift from Hoosier Racing Tire Company. The Fun Time triple Lil' Miss Racette Queen contest is for girls ages 4 & 5 - 6 & 7 - and 8 years of age. Three winners will each receive prizes, a queens sash and a corsage. At 4 PM the group "Mississippi" will entertain from center stage. In the evening, the Merchandiser Best of Show winner will be collect his championship trophy. The many Best of Show Race Car Awards will be awarded and made known. At 9 PM the Checkered Flag will fall on the 23rd Annual Lebanon Race Car Show for eternity.
