10th Annual York County Nationals Set for SSP on Saturday Night



SSP Returns to 6:00 p.m. Start Time







Newberrytown, PA (August 30, 2010) – Racing action returns to the Susquehanna Speedway Park on Saturday Night, September 4, with the 10th Annual York County Nationals featuring the Late Models (32-lap feature), Street Stocks (25-lap feature), Xtreme Stock Cars, Legends Cars and Road Warriors. The $1,000-to-win 32-lap feature will highlight the Late Models. The Street Stock winner will receive $600 for their efforts. The 20-lap Legends Cars feature will be the 3rd Annual Four Diamonds Benefit race with extra lap monies being offered. The Road Warriors will compete in two features (one regularly scheduled and one make-up feature from August 21).







On Saturday night, racing action begins at 6:00 p.m. Pit gates will open at 3:30 p.m. and the grandstand gates will open at 4:00 p.m. Warmups begin at 5:30 p.m. with qualifying races at 6:00 p.m. followed by consolation races and feature events.







General Admission Grandstand ticket prices for Saturday night are Adults (ages 18-59) $14.00; Young Adults (ages 11-17) & Senior Adults (60 & Older) $12.00; Children (10 & under) are free.







Pit pass prices are $25.00 with a reduced price of $20.00 for all pit competitor license holders. The minimum age requirement to purchase a pit pass is 12 years of age with a copy of a birth certificate is required for all ages 12 to 14.







The popular "Repeat Fan Discount" program will continue at SSP in 2010 for the seventh straight season. This is a $2.00 repeat fan discount for each person with a ticket stub from races during the previous week's events completed only. Returning fans are encouraged to write their name, address and phone number on the back of the stub to be entered into special drawings during and at the end of the season for great prizes. The Repeat Fan Discount is not valid for pit pass purchases.







Racing action returns to the SSP Outback Track on Friday night, September 3 featuring quarter midget, kart, lawnmowers and Adult Speedcar racing action. This race is the final points race of the 2010 Summer Shoot-Out Series. Racing begins at 7:30 p.m.







Last weekend, Manchester’s Randy Chrisitne Jr. picked up his second Late Model victory of the season by leading 19 laps of the 20-lap feature at the Susquehanna Speedway Park on Saturday night. Doug Bennett of Chambersburg returned to his winning ways by claiming his fourth Street Stock victory of the year. Spring Grove’s Mike Zeigler Jr. won his third Xtreme Stock race in four events when Jason Failor was disqualified in post-race technical inspection for the fourth time this season. Kurt Welsh led from start to finish in the Classic Car feature event. The 12-lap Mini Van feature was won once again by York Haven’s Daryl Sipe for the seventh time this year.

Summer Shoot-Out Series Continues Friday Night at SSP Outback Track



Newberrytown, PA - The final race of the Summer Shoot-Out Series at the SSP Outback Track will be on Friday night, September 3. The pit gates will open 5:00 p.m. with a driver’s meeting at 7:15 p.m. Open practice begins at 6:45 p.m. and racing action begins at 7:30 p.m. There will be no sanctioning body affiliation for either karts or quarter midgets, but the technical/specification rules will be very similar to the major sanctioning groups for these types of cars (W.K.A. and QMA). The entry fees for each class will be $20.00 per entry for driver’s with an annual license. Pit pass fees for the driver are included in the entry fee. Non-license driver’s entry fees will be $25.00. Participants may enter more than one class on a raceday ($12.00 for each additional class). Trophies will be awarded to the top three in each class. No participants will be denied racing as SSP will make every effort to define a class for all drivers who wish to compete.







Pit pass prices for non-drivers at the Outback Track will be $8.00 for everyone ages 18 & older; Teens & Children ages 11 – 17 are $5.00; Children 10 years of age and under are $3.00. Ages 2 & under are admitted free.







The 10-race Summer Shoot-Out Series will began on Friday, June 25 and concludes on Saturday, September 3. There will be separate point champions crowned from both the Spring and Summer Shoot-Out Series.

The Next Wednesday Night Test & Tune on September 1











The next Wednesday Night Test & Tune session will be held on Wednesday, September 1 at the Susquehanna Speedway Park. It is open to any type of racecars capable of competing on the 4/10 mile oval. The cost is $12.00 per person for pit passes and a $20.00 fee for each racecar entering the pit area ($32.00 per car & driver combination). Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. with open track time from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. by class. Each session will be 6 – 8 laps per session. The grandstands are open free to the public. Each class will receive 4 to 5 rounds of 6/8 laps each or more if time permits. The fuel pumps from Miller’s Racing Parts will not be open. Anyone needing fuel should contact Miller’s Racing Parts directly at 717-766-0181. The main concession stand will be open throughout the night.







Also on Wednesday night, there will an open practice session for quarter midgets and karts at the Outback Track from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. under the lights. The gates will open at 5:30 p.m. with open practice from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The cost will be $20.00 per driver with no charge for anyone else entering the grandstand and “cold pit” areas. All Outback Track participants should enter the pits from the Kise Mill Road entrance behind turn 2 of the “Big Track.”







There will also be a bi-weekly racing swap meet added to all Wednesday Night Test & Tunes scheduled for 2010 at SSP. The event is free to buy, sell or look. All sellers will set up in the parking lot across the street from the speedway. The times are from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Any racing related items may be sold new or used from go karts/quarter midgets to full-size racecars and everything in between. This will give teas a chance to raise money by getting rid of equipment not needed and give other teams a chance to search for those items needed to stay on the track in 2010. Cars, engines, parts and trailers may be available.

For first time users, just log into www.rainedout.com. Once on the homepage type "Susquehanna Speedway Park" or "SSP Outback Track" (each track requires a separate signup although the same user name/password can be designated) in the box provided at the top. When redirected, select the link below to the chosen track then click "Sign Up Now" to begin.







A registration form will appear, fill out the appropriate information and hit enter to submit. A cell phone text message will be received momentarily, offering a validation code that needs to be typed in to complete the registration.







- Track Rental for the “Big Track” and the “Outback Track” – The “Big track” and the “Outback track” are available for rent beginning March 1, 2010. The “Big Track” rental fee is $1,400.00 for 4 hours and may be split between a maximum of five-(5) drivers/teams. Only one car is permitted on the track at a time. If an ambulance is requested, it is an additional $75.00 per hour. For nighttime rentals at the “Big Track”, an additional $100.00 per hour will be charged for lights.







The rental price for the “Outback Track” is $400.00 for 4 hours during the day /$500.00 at night and may be split between a maximum of five-(5) drivers/teams. To reserve either track, please call 717-292-1696.
