HOWARD HAVING DREAM SEASON, SHUEY GOING FOR TITLE IN FINAL POINT EVENTS AT GRANDVIEW

Sabo wins bachelor party in BPG Racing Freedom 76 sponsor booth

BECHTELSVILLE, PA September 9, 2010 . . . With the final point races of the season being presented on Saturday (Sept. 11) at Grandview Speedway Duane Howard is closing out a dream season. The Oley racer has wrapped up the NASCAR Whelen All American Series 358 Modified title but another win, added to the eight he has already, would go a long way toward earning third spot in the NASCAR Whelen National title race and that would be worth an additional $5,000.

Howard and the Chad Sinon owned BPG Racing No. 4 358 Modified team will be looking to close out the season with a strong effort in the Green Lane Wm. Penn/Four Star Lettering Night. The 358 Modifieds will be featured along with the NASCAR Late Models.

Still battling for the second spot in the final Modified standings will be Ryan Godown, eight time champion Jeff Strunk and Craig VonDohren.

Brian Shuey goes into the final night of point racing shooting for his third Late Model championship. Though he has a more than 200 point lead it is still possible for Chuck Schutz, Ron Kline and Randy Stoudt to take the title.

Of course there is always a lot of interest amongst fans as to what drivers will be able to finish the season in the top ten in both divisions.

In remembrance of 9/11 Keith Gerhart will sing the National Anthem. He has sung for the Yankees, Iron Pigs and Reading Phillies. All fans are invited to bring an American Flag to wave.

In addition to all that excitement for the fans the 358 Modified racers will be looking to having a final racing session as they get their cars ready for the richest event of the season, the BPG Racing Freedom 76 coming up on Saturday, September 18th and that one pays at least $20,000 to win. In addition there is more than $1,500 in special awards and lap money available for the racers.

Advance tickets for the BPG Freedom 76 will be available at the track on Saturday night. Adults pay $30, youngsters 6 through 11 $10 and under 6 are admitted FREE. Racing starts at 7 p.m.

During the day of the race fans are invited to participate in the Line-X of Lehigh Valley Freedom Fest at the track. The fan activities will start at 11 a.m. and continue until 3 p.m. Included will be driver interviews, autograph opportunities, dunk tank, opportunities to color Troy Wink’s Modified, rock music with Johnny Rock-It and much more.

Race fan Steve Sabo and his special friends will be using the BPG Racing Sponsor Booth for Steve’s bachelor party. Steve’s fiance Sandy Quintus entered a contest that asked fans to send an e-mail telling BPG Racing why they felt they should get to use the booth with friends during the Freedom 76. Sandy’s e-mail won the contest and her fiance is going to have a great bachelor party. Steve and Sandy will be married on October 1st.

September 25th is the rain date for the 40th annual BPG Racing Freedom 76. However is the rain date is not needed the track will present a doubleheader show featuring open competition modifieds and late models starting at 7 p.m.

Grandview Speedway is located at 43 Passmore Road in Bechtelsville, PA, just off Route 100, 10 miles north of Pottstown. For information telephone 610.754.7688 or check in at http://www.grandviewspeedway.com/.
