NASCAR 358 MODIFIEDS AND LATE MODELS IN ACTION IN 3 STARZ LANDSCAPING NIGHT AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY

BECHTELSVILLE, PA July 8, 2010 . . . The excitement of NASCAR 358 Modifieds and Late Models will be the featured attractions when Saturday night stock car racing action gets the green flag at 7:30 p.m. at Grandview Speedway sponsored by 3 Starz Landscaping of Hatboro, PA.

Duane Howard continues to lead the standings in the chase for the lucrative NASCAR Whelen All American Series 358 Modified championship along with the track championship. Howard has a substantial lead over eight time track champion Jeff Strunk. In third place is Craig VonDohren who has been on a hot streak lately with six Saturday night feature wins. Those three top running talents along with an expected field of more than 40 Modified racers will be seen in action.

In the Late Models the point chase is very close with past champion Chuck Schutz, fresh off his $5,000 win in the Curt J. High Firecracker 40, looking to increase his slim point lead over defending champion Brian Shuey. The top four in the point battle are separated by less than 130 points with Ron Kline and Randy Stoudt currently in third and fourth spots.

The Saturday night, July 10th, show will include a full series of qualifying events with a 30-lap feature starting 28 racers topping the Modified action. The Late Models will complete their part of the show with a 20-lap feature that usually has 24 cars starting.

Tuesday, July 14th the traveling Race of Champions Modifieds will be featured in a 60-lap feature race with several of the top Grandview racers planning to compete. In addition there will be a 40-lap feature for the Race of Champions Sportsman. Racing gets the green flag at 7:30 p.m.

Coming up on Saturday night, July 17th, WNPV-1440 AM Radio will sponsor the doubleheader show which will again feature the 358 Modifieds and Late Models. The popular radio station, a big supporter of racing at Grandview, will be giving away more than $1000 worth of tickets to lucky fans for the July 31-August 1st weekend of NASCAR stock car racing. Racing will start at 7:30 p.m.

One of the most popular Saturday night sponsors, Hatfield Quality Meats, will offer another doubleheader show on Saturday, July 24th. More than 200 Pocono Raceway NASCAR Truck/ARCA Series tickets will be given away to early arriving fans.

And on Saturday, July 31st, a first time attraction will be the Steel Block Bandit Late Models, also featuring the Grandview Late Models, will be in action along with the Sportsman stock cars. There will be no 358 Modified racing that night. The Steel Block Bandit Late Model feature, 40 laps, will pay $2,000 to win according the organization officials. Information on the Steel Block Bandit organization can be found at http://www.steelblockbandits.com/. Racing gets the green at 7:30 p.m.
