NASCAR 358 MODS AND LATE MODEL DOUBLEHEADER CLOSES OUT MAY AT GRANDVIEW, BUSY MONTH OF JUNE KICKS OFF ON JUNE 1
BECHTELSVILLE, PA May 27, 2010 . . . The busy month of May closes out on Saturday, May 29th at Grandview Speedway with a doubleheader show that features the NASCAR Whelen All American Series 358 Modifieds and Late Model stock cars with the green flag waving the first event off at 7:30 p.m.
Duane Howard will continue his drive toward a championship in the NASCAR 358 Modifieds with defending champion Jeff Strunk not far behind looking to get his ninth title. In the Late Models it is defending champion Brian Shuey in front in the point battle but the top five are separated by less than 50 points in one of the tightest point races seen in years.
The Saturday night show will consist of qualifying events for each division with a 30-lap feature starting 28 racers in the Modifieds while a 20-lap feature starting 24 racers tops the Late Model division.
Just a few days later the busy month of June at the Berks County oval will see the United States Auto Club Wingless Sprint cars in action along with the American Racing Drivers Club Wingless Midgets on Tuesday, June 1st at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday night action at Grandview Speedway will feature Rastelli Direct Night, a new sponsor, with the NASCAR Modifieds and Late Models in action on June 5th.
A NEETS Enduro along with SpeedSTRs will be the attraction on Sunday, June 6th at 2 p.m.
Modifieds and United Racing Company Sprint cars will be in the spotlight on Saturday, June 12th at 7:30 p.m. with RCN Cable TV on hand to record the action.
The popular Super DIRTcar Series is back at the one-third-mile, banked clay speedway with a 100-lap event topping the program on Tuesday, June 15th at 7:30 p.m. A Sportsman stock car invitational will be included in the program along with the Garden State Vintage Cars.
Whelen Night takes place on Saturday, June 19th with the Modifieds and Late Models getting the green at 7:30 p.m.
The prestigious 2nd Annual Don Marks Memorial, run in memory of the late track photographer, presented by BPG Racing is set for Saturday, June 26th. An extra bonus for the winner of the Modified feature will be a $1,000 gift certificate from Troyer Race Cars.
The month closes out on Tuesday, June 29th with the running of the Pennsylvania Sprint Speed Week Series 410 Sprints and 358 Modifieds. As with all the night shows in June racing will start at 7:30 p.m.
