WILLMAN AND GODOWN MAY BE FAN FAVORITES FOR WIN IN 40-LAP NASCAR MODIFIED FEATURE AT GRANDVIEW

BECHTELSVILLE, PA April 8, 2010 . . . In the BPG Racing Pick 3 Contest which offers fans at Grandview Speedway a chance to win cash for picking the top three finishers in the NASCAR 358 Modified feature race no one picked John Willman to win last Saturday.

This Saturday night fans will probably make John Willman one of the fan favorites in the Pick 3 contest selections. Last Saturday night he was able to hold off Duane Howard, a consistent top performer in the NASCAR 358 Modifieds to win the 30-lap open night feature. It was just his third career victory and his first in a number of years.

With $4,000 waiting for the winner in the 40-lap NASCAR Whelen All American Series 358 Modified feature race on Saturday (April 10) Willman will go off as a fan favorite to win as long as he can qualify for the 29-car starting field.

Last Saturday 55 Modifieds tried to qualify with 26 racers ending up as spectators. There should be that many if not more trying for a starting spot in the rich classic.

Many feel that Ryan Godown would have been tough to beat if he had not run into tire problems. He had a very comfortable lead when he was forced to the pits with a flat tire about midway in the main event. Godown will be a big fan favorite as a result of his strong effort.

There will be plenty of competition for Willman and Godown including Howard, eight time Modified champion Jeff Strunk, Craig VonDohren, Billy Pauch Jr., Doug Manmiller, Keith Hoffman, Mike Gular, Terry Meitzler, Jason Hamilton and a host of others.

The NASCAR Late Models will be the second part of this exciting doubleheader show set to start at 7 p.m. Mike Kellner, open night winner, will be looking for his second win in a row.

Adult admission for the special April 10 doubleheader is $20, kids 6-11 pay $5 and under 6 are admitted FREE. There is always FREE parking on the speedway grounds.

Sunday, April 11, 2 p.m. the NEETS Enduro competitors will be in action along with the open cockpit SpeedSTRs. Jeff Strunk will be part of the SpeedSTR action.

Grandview Speedway is located at 43 Passmore Road, just off Route 100, in Bechtelsville, PA, 10 miles north of Pottstown. For information telephone 610.754.7688 or check in at http://www.grandviewspeedway.com/.
