Selinsgrove Speedway All Set To Go For Insinger Performance Products RoC Icebreaker III Weekend

SELINSGROVE SPEEDWAY ALL SET TO GO FOR INSINGER PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS RoC ICEBREAKER III WEEKEND

Binghamton, NY … Some parts of the northeast still have many inches of snow on the ground and racing is still many weeks away. This is not the case in Selinsgrove, Pa. as they were spared of the last two big storms. This good luck has allowed the Selinsgrove Speedway track crew the opportunity to get the racing surface into racing condition.

“With all of the dry, sunny weather this past week it has allowed the track crew to totally work the racing surface into prime racing condition by grading, watering, and packing it in,” said Joe Kaminski, Jr. of the Selinsgrove Speedway and JGK Motorsports. “As of 5:15 Friday evening March 5th the racing surface is race ready and all set to go and I can’t wait as in two weeks racing will be taking place at the Selinsgrove Speedway.”

Many racing teams and race fans from throughout the northeast have made their plans well in advance to attend the Insinger Performance Products RoC Icebreaker III Weekend at the Selinsgrove Speedway on Friday and Saturday March 19th and 20th. In case of inclement weather Sunday March 21st has been reserved as a rain date.

Despite all motels in Selinsgrove already being booked up for the weekend by race fans and racing teams there are still many rooms available within 30 to 45 minutes of the Selinsgrove Speedway. Anyone looking for rooms is recommended to check motel availability in the Dansville, Bloomsburg, Lewisburg, and Williamsport, Pennsylvania locations.

“The excitement is starting to build as my phone, Joe’s phone, and the track phone have all been ringing off the hook recently,” said RoC Administrative Director Andrew Harpell. “ There are many people really looking forward to this weekend of racing and the best news of all is there is absolutely no snow on the ground at the Selinsgrove Speedway, so we’re ready to go racing.”

Racing teams are reminded that there is an entry fee for both shows and they are available on the RoC website at www.rocdirt.com. There is a discounted entry fee for racing teams who pre – enter by the designated date. Entry forms will also be available on both race nights and at the Syracuse, NY Motorsports Expo that takes place on March 13th and 14th.

The Friday March 19th Race of Champions Dart Dirt 358 Modified Tour show sees all gates opening at 5 p. m. A drivers’ meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:45 with hot laps at 7:10 and the first heat will be green flagged at 7:30 p. m. sharp.

The 358 Modifieds will run a complete show of heats, consi’s, and a 25 lap feature, joining them will be hot lap sessions for the big block Modifieds that will be in competition on Saturday.

The Saturday March 20th Race of Champions Dart Dirt Modified Tour show will see all gates remaining open following the Friday night racing program. This will allow all racing teams the opportunity to arrive early on Saturday and be able to unload their respective racing machines without being rushed. The grounds will be cleared at 1:30 in the afternoon and all gates will then officially open at two in the afternoon. A drivers’ meeting is scheduled to begin at 3:10 with hot laps taking place at 3:30 and the first heat receives the green flag at 4 p. m. sharp. A complete Modified show of heats, Cash Dash, consi’s, Non – Qualifiers Feature and a 50 lap feature will be run, the 358 Sprint Cars will also be receiving hot laps during the program.

If the Sunday March 21st rain date needs to be used all gates will open at Noon with a drivers meeting at 12:50, hot laps at 1:20, and the first heat getting the green at 2 p. m. sharp.
