SEASON OFFICIALLY OPENS ON APRIL 3

BECHTELSVILLE, PA March 11, 2010 . . . To track owner Bruce Rogers it seems just like yesterday that Grandview Speedway presented their first stock car racing events. On Saturday, March 27th, the 49th season of stock car racing will get started on the one-third-mile, banked clay oval. The traditional free-to-the-public practice session will give racers a chance to test and tune their new and refurbished equipment as they get ready for the official start of the season.

All classes of competition are invited to participate in the practice session which will get the green flag at noon.

Concession facilities will be open and those interested in purchasing season passes will be able to do so on practice day. Season passes include the choice of a reserved seat for all the events included in the season pass.

Fans will get a chance to see what their favorite racers will be driving during the 2010 NASCAR Whelen All American Series chase for the championships in both the 358 Modifieds and the Late Models.

Then on Saturday, April 3, 7 p.m. the point battles begin and the 49th season officially gets the green. The 358 Modifieds and Late Models will present a full series of qualifying events leading up to a 30-lap feature for the Modifieds and a 20-lap feature for Late Models.

Jeff Strunk will be looking to earn his ninth Modified title at the Bechtelsville oval while Brian Shuey will be going for his second straight Late Model title and third of his career.

The NEETS Enduro Series, scheduled for eight events during the 2010 season, will get their season started on Sunday, April 11th with action getting underway at 2 p.m. The open cockpit SpeedSTRs will also be part of the Sunday show.

NASCAR sanctioned stock car racing will be presented each Saturday night throughout the season with weekly action continuing until late September.

Admission for adults, for regular Saturday night shows, will be $13 while youngsters 6 through 11 pay just $5. Children under 6 are admitted free with paying adults. Members of the military are admitted FREE when in uniform. There is always free parking on the grounds of the speedway.

Fans are invited into the pit area after the racing action to meet the racers, collect autographs, take photos and often have the opportunity to chat with the racers.
