BIG DIAMOND RACEWAY PREPARED TO OPEN WITH TEST AND TUNE THIS SUNDAY; NEW TRACK 50/50 INTRODUCED FOR 2010…By Gary Lileck
Forestville, PA – March 15, 2010 – Big Diamond Raceway is busy in preparation for the 2010 racing season. In a few short days, the track will open for practice sessions.
Test and tunes will be held for any and all types of race cars on Sunday March 21. Gates open at 3PM and testing begins at 5:00PM. Pit admission is $20 and the grandstands are free to the public.
Track officials reported that the speedway was shaping up well last week before the weekend rain. With plenty of sunshine and nice temperatures in store this week, the three-eighth’s mile clay oval is eagerly anticipating that there will be cars on the track this Sunday.
As a community oriented entertainment facility, Big Diamond Raceway will be accepting applications for non-profit organizations (501c3 compliant) to host the weekly speedway 50/50. A show sponsor may choose to pick a charity or organization to run the 50/50 on their night if they wish. The applications will be accepted by the following criteria in this numerical order:
1) National/regional charities or organizations (such as: Relay for Life, SPCA, Wounded Warrior, Children’s Hospitals.
2) Local Fire Compaines, EMTs, Police.
3) Local organizations, such as little league baseball.
