RACING RESUMES AT THUNDER MOUNTAIN SPEEDWAY SATURDAY, MAY 23 (5-17-15)‏

Racing Resumes Saturday, May 23 At Thunder Mountain Speedway With Complete Program Plus Kids’ Bike Races; Bounties In Place For Street Stock & FWD Four Cylinder Divisions

CENTER LISLE, NY – Rain and thunderstorms forced the cancelation of Saturday night’s program at Thunder Mountain Speedway.

Speedway management opted to pull the plug at 2 p.m. to save racers and fans the time and expense of driving to the track with 100-percent chance of late-afternoon/early evening precipitation. Ultimately, the rains did move over the Center Lisle, N.Y., three-eighths-mile track by 4 p.m. and continued through race time.

Saturday marked the first rain-prompted cancelation of the 2015 season at Thunder Mountain.

The action continues Saturday, May 23 with Modifieds, Open Sportsman, Crate 602 Sportsman, Rookie Sportsman, Barrett’s Race Cars & Components Street Stocks, XCel 600 Modifieds and FWD Four Cylinders. An added attraction at intermission will be Kids Bike Races.

Gates open at 4 p.m., with hot laps at 6:20 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m. Adult grandstand admission is $12. Seniors (ages 65 and up) and Students (ages 10-17) pay $10. Kids 9 and under are FREE. Pit admission is $30, with no license required.

Bounties have been placed on Steven Deinhardt (Street Stock) and Dylan Robinson (FWD Four Cylinder). Both drivers are three-for-three in Victory Lane this season on the Mountain. Should new face win the Street Stock event, that driver will receive a $100 bonus. A ’15 first-time FWD Four Cylinder victor takes home $50 cash. Both bonuses depend on Deinhardt and Robinson, respectively, finishing each event on the lead lap.
