Sicklerville, NJ (September 2, 2014) – On Saturday, August 30, Brad Roberts returned to racing in the Crate/Sportsman class at Bridgeport Speedway. Contact on a restart resulted in a left front flat tire and slowed the Delaware driver’s surge to the front of the pack. Wheeling the 307 Sportsman car that is usually driven by fellow competitor Sean Gunther, Roberts, a member of the B&M Motorsports team, started eighth in the first qualifying race and finished in third place. He began the 20-lap feature for the 811 Dig Safely Crate/Sportsman in seventeenth place. With eight circuits completed, Roberts had motored into eighth place. On a ninth lap restart, tight racing resulted in contact and a flat front left tire. After a visit to the pit area, Roberts returned to racing and ended the evening with a nineteenth place finish. Coming off a Beach Blast win at Georgetown Speedway, Brett Ballard joined his teammate Roberts and entered his 5B Teo Pro Car in the 811 Dig Safely Crate/Sportsman ranks. After a strong fourth place finish in the second heat race, the feature event was not kind to the Pennsville, NJ driver. On the opening circuit of the 20-lap contest, an accident eliminated hopes of a visit to victory lane. Ballard and his team are hopeful of making repairs to their car in time for his next scheduled event at Bridgeport Speedway on Saturday, September 6. SECOND CONSECUTIVE RUNNER-UP FINISH FOR NARDELLI AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY
Sicklerville, NJ (September 2, 2014) – With the racing season winding down, Lee Nardelli is beginning to heat up in the 600cc Micro-Sprint division at Bridgeport Speedway. For the second consecutive time, Nardelli finished in the runner-up position in the 20-lap feature that took place on Friday, August 29.
In qualifying action, Nardelli took the checkered flag in the second heat race. With the top six cars inverted for the main event, the Bridgeton, NJ driver started fifth. By the third circuit, he was up to third place. With two laps remaining, he migrated to second place but could not catch Andrew Locuson in the final tours. “I over adjusted the car and just missed the set-up a bit. I am still pleased with the night,” remarked Nardelli. He will be back in action on Friday, September 5 at Bridgeport Speedway and looking to record his first win of the year.
