410 Sprtints Return and 360/358 Sprint Car Challenge Race at SSP on Sunday, September 21

Newberrytown, PA (September 11, 2014) On Sunday night, September 21, racing returns on the “Big Track” with the Inaugural Sprint Car Fall Classic featuring the 410 Super Sprints and a 360/358 Sprint Car Challenge race. The special 360/358 Sprint Car Challenge race is presented by www.shetronequipment.com and Newville Construction Services.
The Super 410 Sprint Car feature will pay $3,500-to-win for the 25-lap feature event. Non-qualifiers for the A-Main feature will receive a complimentary non-transferrable entry fee ($50.00 value) for the Final Showdown to be held at SSP in November. For the Super Sprint Cars, mufflers WILL NOT be required and Hoosier Brand Spec Tires will be required on all four corners (same as the 2014 rules at Williams Grove, Lincoln and Port Royal Speedways). All other rules will follow the generally accepted rules for Sprint Cars at local weekly Central PA Sprint Car tracks (1400 pounds weight rule). Raceivers will be mandatory for all Sprint Cars.
The 358/360 Sprint Car feature will pay $2,000-to-win for the 20-lap feature event. The race will pay $200 to start. Non-qualifiers for the A-Main feature will receive a complimentary non-transferrable entry fee ($50.00 value) for the Final Showdown to be held at SSP in November. Mufflers WILL NOT be required. For all cars, the following tires are permitted - Hoosier Brand Spec Tires will be required on all four corners (same as the 2014 rules at Williams Grove, Lincoln and Trailways Speedways), URC2, MC@, or Selinsgrove track tire. All other rules of the Central PA 358 Sprint Cars will prevail for 358 cars this event. All cars competing may use ASCS top wing rule and the minimum weight for all cars with driver is 1,475 pounds. The pit gates will open at 3:30 p.m. Grandstand gates will open at 4:00 p.m. Track Prep laps begin at 5:30 p.m. with qualifying races at 6:00 p.m. followed by consolation races and feature events.
General Admission Grandstand ticket prices for Saturday night are Adults (ages 18-59) $18.00; Young Adults (ages 11-17) & Senior Adults (60 & Older) $15.00; Children (10 & under) are free. Pit pass prices are $25.00. The minimum age requirement to purchase a pit pass is 12 years of age with a copy of a birth certificate is required for all ages 12 to 14.

The Next Wednesday Night Test & Tune is on September 17
The next Wednesday Night Test & Tune session will be held on Wednesday, September 17 at the Susquehanna Speedway Park. It is open to any type of racecars capable of competing on the 4/10 mile oval. The cost is $12.00 per person for pit passes and a $20.00 fee for each racecar entering the pit area ($32.00 per car & driver combination). Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. with open track time from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. by class. Each session will be 6 – 8 laps per session. The grandstands are open free to the public. Each class will receive 4 to 5 rounds of 6/8 laps each or more if time permits. The fuel pumps from Miller’s Racing Parts will not be open. Anyone needing fuel should contact Miller’s Racing Parts directly at 717-766-0181. The main concession stand will be open throughout the night.
Also on Wednesday night, there will an open practice session for quarter midgets and karts at the Outback Track from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. under the lights. The gates will open at 5:30 p.m. with open practice from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The cost will be $20.00 per driver with no charge for anyone else entering the grandstand and “cold pit” areas. All Outback Track participants should enter the pits from the Kise Mill Road entrance behind turn 2 of the “Big Track.”
- Track Rental for the “Big Track” and the “Outback Track” – The “Big track” and the “Outback track” are available for rent for testing and tuning purposes. The “Big Track” rental fee is $1,500.00 for 4 hours and may be split between a maximum of five-(5) drivers/teams. Only one car is permitted on the track at a time. If an ambulance is requested, it is an additional $75.00 per hour. For nighttime rentals at the “Big Track”, an additional $100.00 per hour will be charged for lights.
The rental price for the “Outback Track” is $400.00 for 4 hours during the day /$500.00 at night and may be split between a maximum of five-(5) drivers/teams. To reserve either track, please call 717-292-1696.
- Repeat Fan Discount Continues for 2014 – The popular “Repeat Fan Discount” program will continue at SSP in 2014. There is a $2.00 repeat fan discount for each person with a ticket stub from races during the previous week’s events completed only. Returning fans are encouraged to write their name, address and phone number on the back of the stub to be entered into special drawings during and at the end of the season for great prizes. The Repeat Fan Discount is not valid for pit pass purchases.
