PRACTICE FOR MODIFIED MAYHEM AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY IS SET FOR FRIDAY, AUGUST 15

Sicklerville, NJ (August 10, 2014) – With Modified Mayhem at Bridgeport Speedway slated for Friday, August 22, a practice session has been scheduled for Friday, August 15. Modified Mayhem will feature the long awaited return of Modified cars to Bridgeport Speedway’s quarter mile track.  This unique event will feature any type of Modified car from Crate/Sportsman through Big Block Modified with very few rules. With thirty plus drivers expressing interest in the event, qualifying for the 25-lap feature on August 22 will be at a premium as only sixteen cars will start the main event. Thus, this test and tune could help launch a driver to victory lane.

Along with the test and tune session for the Modifieds, racing will take place with the Micro-Sprints (270cc and 600cc) and 4-Cylinder Cars on the inner oval and the TSRS Sprint Cars will compete on the five-eighth mile track. On Friday, August 15, all gates will open at 5:30 p.m. Warm-ups start at 7:30 p.m. with racing getting underway at 8:00 p.m. Pit fees will be $25 with a Bridgeport Speedway Friday night license and $30 without a Bridgeport Speedway Friday night license. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults with kids 9 and under admitted for free.

For Modified Mayhem on Friday, August 22, any Modified car from Crate Sportsman powered cars to Big Block Modifieds is eligible as an open motor rule is in effect. In addition, any 13 X 92 Modified track tire can be used for the race. A standard Dirt Car Modified body with or without Sail Panels can be used. No additional wings are permitted.

Along with the purse which is currently at $800 to win and $100 to take the green, several additional awards will be up for grabs. Black Flagged Racing will be presenting trophies to the top three finishers.  ERK Steering, a steering box repair company owned and operated by Eric Kormann, has generously donated a $50 gift certificate for the victor with $25 gift certificates awarded to the eleventh through fifteenth place finishers.  Jones Racing Products has graciously agreed to offer a $50 gift certificate to the runner-up and to the recipient of the Hard Luck award. CTS Lawn Care is sponsoring a $100 Hard Charger Award to the driver, other than the victor of the feature, who advances the most positions from his or her starting spot.

Fans attending Modified Mayhem will have a chance to go home with some giveaways. As a unique offering, Flower Transfer Logistics of Sewell, NJ will be donating a dozen red roses to be given to the victor’s wife, girlfriend or Mom. Plus, Flower Transfer Logistics has donated USB flash drives and hats to be given to spectators. More hats will be given out to the fans through Certified Laboratories. Plus, Miss Wiz Motorsports will be making her debut at the event.
