BECHTELSVILLE, PA July 30, 2014 . . . Another action packed night of NASCAR stock car racing is set for Saturday, August 2nd at Grandview Speedway with an extra added attraction being included and all sponsored by WNPV-1440AM Radio of Lansdale. Fans coming out for the 7:30 p.m. race show will enjoy the excitement of NASCAR 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models and Sportsman stock cars along with the opportunity to see what racing was like many years back with the appearance of the popular Blast from the Past Vintage Racers.
Fans will have the opportunity to see another great battle featuring some of the top racers in dirt track Modified racing when Duane Howard tries to add another win to his impressive five victories for this season. Point leader Jeff Strunk will be looking to hold on to his top spot in the standings as he works toward his 10th track title. Craig VonDohren, Doug Manmiller, Meme DeSantis, Mike Gular, Tim Buckwalter and others will all be looking to pick up a victory and take home at least $2750 for their efforts and that includes $250 in bonus bucks from T.P. Trailer of Limerick. Racers using VP Racing Gasoline have the opportunity to pick up a $150 product award if they get to victory lane.
Jared Umbenhauer has won five straight Sportsman features and has ten for the season. Will someone be able to beat him on Saturday night? A lot of great talent looking to end point leader Umbenhauer’s victory streak.
And in the BRC Late Models there has been a variety of winners this season and it is anyone’s guess as to who will visit victory lane at the end of this 25-lap feature. Veteran Randy Stoudt continiues to lead the point standings for the Late Model division.
Fans will also enjoy seeing the Blast from the Past Vintage Racers in action as it gives them a chance to see what stock car racing was all about many years back. Past track Late Model champion Ronnie Peck and former Reading Fairgrounds standout Jim Baker have visited victory lane this season with the Vintage Racers.
Fans will also have the opportunity to win one of two 4-packs of tickets for the popular Knoebel’s Amusement Park. The 4-packs are valued at $160. Tickets are courtesy of racing sponsor WNPV-1440 AM Radio of Lansdale. The radio station is a big supporter of racing at Grandview and is the area’s NASCAR radio station.
Adult admission is $15 for the Saturday night card of racing with youngsters 12 and under admitted for free. Active military with proper ID are admitted for Free.
Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m. with the fan favorite Low Down and Dirty Meet & Greet taking place outside the main gate. Included in the Meet & Greet will be rising young Modified star Tim Buckwalter, rookie BRC Late Model talent Dan Green and Sportsman ace Paul Kline. Each of the drivers will be available for autographs, photos and just to chat with their fans while giving them an up close at their race cars.
Coming up on Saturday, August 9th if the rich Forrest Rogers Memorial presented by Pioneer Pole Buildings. The 50-lap classic is expected to attract a few outsiders to try for the $10,000 plus win money. Also included in the night’s action will be the BRC Late Models and Sportsman stock cars. Adult admission will be $25 while youngsters 6 through 12 are admitted for $5 and kids under 6 get to see all the excitement for free. All fans are invited to the pit area after the races to meet the racers, take pictures, collect autographs and get an up-close look at the race cars.
