ENTERPRISE CAR SALES PRESENT. . . . .
HAMLIN & NEW EGYPT STARS HIGHLIGHT IRCO DIRT TRACK HEROES CAR SHOW AT PHILLIPSBURG MALL- - SHOW CONTINUES THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT
The IRCO Community Federal Credit Union Seventh Annual Dirt Track Heroes Show presented by Enterprise Car Sales continued through the fourth day of the week long journey for the racing community and another successful day went into the record books featuring the stars of the Hamlin and New Egypt Speedways occupying center stage. The seventh annual edition of the show will continue through March 8th with sponsorship through IRCO, Smith Fabrications and the Stage One Modifieds, Martocci's Automotive, Hamlin Speedway/S&S Speedways, Kim's Kreations, R&F International Muffler and Brake, Persa Auto Repair, Murante Auto Repair, Penn Jersey Super Markets and Auto and Enterprise Car Sales. Nightly interviews and 83 race cars provide the race fan a full appetite of racing fun before the regular seasons begins. The Phillipsburg Mall, located on Route 22 East in Phillipsburg, NJ, has proven to be a popular setting for this special event and offers a multitude of race cars, racing memorabilia, collectibles and photos on display throughout the course of the show. The show continues to be free of charge to the mall traffic and the 2014 edition of the show is the trend setter of the many shows that are scheduled during the year.
Emcees Ed and Steve Pados opened the show and introduced IRCO Vice President Greg Collins to the crowd. Collins once thanked the local racing community for their support and talked of the various offerings from the IRCO group and once again thanked everyone for their continuous support of the annual event. Hamlin Speedway and S&S Speedway Indoor Go Karts sponsored last evening's event and have been a loyal supporter of the event since the show opened in 2008.
Ed and Steve Pados along with Bobby Stull interviewed a panel of driving stars from the both speedways and it proved to be a good mix of veterans and newcomers doing battle this season at their respective facilities. Drivers interviewed from New Egypt included Brian Papiez, Ebby Ridge, and Matt Carman. Hamlin countered with Amber Oraschin, Shelby Harper, Danny Buccafusca, Alyssa Fogel, Bobby Scherff, Makenzie Harper, Jay Hartman and Kyle Lick. Legendary racer Newt Hartman also took part in the interview sessions. Allyse Wolfinger was on hand to represent New Egypt Speedway and provided the crowd with all of the updated information regarding the facility that is now set to open on March 22nd. The new Egypt season will feature a diverse schedule that will include the World of Outlaws, URC Sprints, USAC Sprints, ARDC Midgets, and a full host of support divisions throughout the season. Hamlin Speedway Promoter Randy Smith was on hand to discuss the new season ahead at the 1/5 mile Hamlin facility which enters the ninth season with the promotional team of Randy and Denise Smith. Randy encouraged all drivers to make sure they attend the March 16th rules meeting to be held at S&S Speedway for all of the changes for the facility in 2014. Randy did state the 2014 schedule is pretty much on par with the events hosted last year and will once again feature the NASCAR Crew Challenge twice during the season.
On tap tonight at the Phillipsburg Mall will be the Hamlin Speedway Stage One Modifieds and Slingshot divisions along with Bridgeport and Mahoning Speedway stars.
