TIGHT POINT BATTLES SET TO CONTINUE ON AUGUST 3 AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY

Bridgeport, NJ (July 30, 2013) – On Saturday, August 3 at Bridgeport
Speedway, two tight championship point battles will continue as an
enhanced card of racing is presented. On this night, two 25-lap Big
Block Modified features will be held. Along with the regular feature,
the postponed Big Block Modified main event from Saturday, July 20 is
set to be held.

With two opportunities for points on this Saturday, Ryan Watt will be
seeking to increase his narrow advantage in the Big Block Modified
rankings. Watt, aided by his fourth feature win of the season on
Saturday, July 27, has regained the points lead and sits atop of the
championship standings with 720 points. The Boyertown, PA wheelman
has a slim five point edge over Jimmy Horton. Horton has collected two
feature victories this year. Behind Horton, Richie Pratt, Jr. sits in
third place with 683 points. Rick Laubach, the 2012 Big Block Modified
champion, resides in fourth with 659 markers and Mike Barone completes
the top five with 616 tallies. The winner of the regularly scheduled
feature will earn a guaranteed starting spot in the Short Track
SuperNationals race that is scheduled for Saturday, October 12 at Five
Mile Point Speedway.

The chase for the Crate/Sportsman championship is even closer than the
pursuit for the Big Block Modified title. During this Saturday’s
20-lap Crate/Sportsman feature, Matt Budd, a three-time winner in 2013
with 817 markers, will be looking to enhance his three point lead over
Mike Cogdill. Third place belongs to Brad Roberts with 746 markers.
Marc Herman is in fourth with 707 points and Ricky DiEva rounds out
the top five with 669 points.

In addition to the Big Block Modifieds and Crate/Sportsman, the Outlaw
Stock Cars will be on the card on Saturday. With seven visits to
Victory Lane in 2013, Ron Frees is continuing to lead the Outlaw Stock
Car standings with 844 points. Tom Wills, Jr. sits in second place
with 780 markers.

On Saturday, August 3, the pit area opens at 4:30 p.m. for the
three-division racing program. The spectator gates unlock at 5:30 p.m.
Action gets underway at 7:00 p.m. Adult (16 and older) admission will
be $15 with students (10-15) being admitted for $10. Kids 9 and under
are free. Residents of Atco, Chesilhurst, and Waterford Works can
enter the grandstand area for no-charge with proper identification.
Pit admission is $30 for Bridgeport members and $35 for non-members.
