Claims Turkey 200 Presented by Keller Williams Realty on Saturday, November 3 at
SSP
Newberrytown,
PA (November 3, 2012) – The
next–to-last event of the 2012 season at the Susquehanna Speedway Park was held
on Saturday afternoon, November 3, with York’s
Patrick McClane claiming the victory in the 100-lap Big Car Enduro at the
9th Annual Turkey 200.
McClane took over the lead from Michael Goodwin on lap 15 and never
looked back after lapping the entire field twice. Chuck Eckert finished second and Goodwin made
a pit stop midway through the race to come back and finish third. David Johnson and Tom Hartman finished close
together to finish fourth and fifth respectively.
The
Small Car 100-lap Enduro found a 4-cylinder taking the checkers over a
6-cylinder for the second year in a row.
David Shank of Hanover took the victory over Daryl Sipe, running a
6-cylinder and also finished a quarter lap behind on the lead lap. The 4-cylinder runner-up was Scott Duncan,
three laps behind. Richard Grim Jr.
finished third with Sam Ryan and Richard Wolfe rounding out the top 5 in the
4-cylinder portion of the race of the Small Car Enduro.
Daryl
Sipe of York Haven claimed the victory of the 6-cylinder portion of the 100-lap
Small Car Enduro. Rick Burnham came
across the line in second, followed by Mark Reece. Justin Oberlin and Ron Marsh finished fourth
and fifth respectively.
Steve
Cantwell of Hanover was victorious in the 20-lap Classic Car main event and
Mountville’s Al Kessock visited victory lane by winning the 15-lap Pro Sign
& Design Mini Van feature.

The
Final Showdown at SSP to Now Pay $6,000-To-Win on Saturday, November 10
Newberrytown,
PA (October 4, 2012) – On
Saturday afternoon, November 10, the Susquehanna Speedway Park will host The
Final Showdown for the Super (410) Sprint Cars in the Central PA area as well as
the entire United States for 2011. Also
included in this special program will be the popular 358 Sprint Cars. The raindate will be Sunday, November
11.
The
Super (410) Sprint Car feature event will be 30-laps and pay the winner $6,000 if the driver is pre-entered on
or before Monday, November 5. Anyone
entering the event on Tuesday, November 6 or after will receive
$5,000-to-win. The race will also now
pay and increased amount of $300 to start the feature. Tow money ($50.00) for non-qualifying drivers
will only be paid to those who pre-entered before November 5. For the Super
Sprint Cars, mufflers WILL NOT be required and an open tire rule on all
four corners will be in place. All other rules of the Central PA Super (410) Sprint Cars will prevail
for this event. Raceivers
will be mandatory.
The
358 Sprint Car feature event will be 20-laps and pay the winner $2,000 if they
are pre-entered on or before Monday, November 5. Anyone entering the event on Tuesday,
November 6 or after will receive $1,500-to-win.
The race will also now pay and increased amount of $200 to start the
feature.Tow money ($50.00) for non-qualifying drivers will only be paid to those
who pre-entered before November 3. The tire rule will be the same used at the regular 358 Sprint Car
tracks – (All right rear
tires used must be a HOOSIER National Sprint Spec tire, size 105/18-15. Any SC
compound tire is permitted). All other
rules of the Central PA 358 Sprint Cars will prevail for this event.
Mufflers are not required for the 358 Sprint Cars. Raceivers will be
mandatory.
For
both the Super Sprint Cars and 358 Sprint Cars, the starting positions for the
Qualifying Heat races will be aligned through a blind draw at the pit gate on
the day of the event. Feature lineups
for both classes will be determined by heat race number one winner drawing for
an inversion (1,3,6) or (1,2,4,6,8) depending on the number of heat races.
As
an extra bonus, all pre-entrants will be able to draw a second time for a
starting position if he or she does not like their first draw for position. However, the entrant must take the second
drawn spot regardless of whether or not it is a better starting position.
Pre-entry
for the event was not mandatory, but highly encouraged to receive the benefits
of pre-entering. A Pre-entry with the fee ($50.00) must be
postmarked by Monday, November 5, 2012.
All entries postmarked on or after Tuesday, November 6, 2012 will not
receive the bonus winner’s pay, tow money if not qualified and the choice for
second pill draw. Entries will be taken
on the day of the event. The entry fee
includes a complimentary pit pass for the driver.
Gates
will open for both the pit area at 11:30 a.m. and grandstand area at 12:00 p.m.
with racing action beginning at 2:00 p.m.
General
Admission Grandstand ticket prices for Saturday are Adults (ages 18-59) $20.00;
Young Adults (ages 11-17) & Senior Adults (60 & Older) $15.00; Children
(10 & under) are free. Pit pass
prices are $30.00 for everyone. The
minimum age requirement to purchase a pit pass is 12 years of age with a copy of
a birth certificate is required for all ages 12 to 14. The Entry Fee for the Driver includes the pit
pass with the entry.

Track Rental for the “Big Track”
– The “Big track” is available for rent.
The “Big Track” rental fee is $1,400.00 for 4 hours and may be split
between a maximum of five-(5) drivers/teams.
Only one car is permitted on the track at a time. If an ambulance is requested, it is an
additional $75.00 per hour. For
nighttime rentals at the “Big Track”, an additional $100.00 per hour will be
charged for lights. To reserve either
