to Host Huge Karting Event in 2013 on May 4 & 5
Newberrytown,
PA (November 1, 2012) – On Saturday and Sunday,
May 4 and 5, 2013, the largest 2-day karting event will take place on the “Big
Track” at the Susquehanna Speedway Park in its 58 year history when the
Pennsylvania Elite Dirt Kart Series visits.
The PEDKS is sanctioned by the World Karting Association (W.K.A.) based
in Concord, North Carolina.
Series
promoter Ron Little Sr. and speedway owner Todd Fisher are making the
announcement jointly pending sanctioning approval from W.K.A. “More than 400 entries each day are expected
for this historical event,” commented Little Sr. “This event will have a huge economic impact
to the area’s restaurants, gas stations and hotels,” replied Fisher. Fisher added, “We are always looking for
something new to bring to the area and we hope to make this an annual event on
the track’s schedule each year.”
The
PEDKS will open its four race tour at SSP with three remaining races with venues
to be announced on June 8 & 9; June 22 & 23 and August 3 & 4. The raindate for the SSP event will be July 6
& 7, 2013.
Each
raceday will be a complete and separate schedule featuring practice, qualifying
and feature races for the 23 different classes of competition. Information about classes can be found at www.elitedirtkart.com.
The World Karting Association (WKA) is a membership-owned, non-profit
corporation formed in 1971 to regulate and promote the sport of competitive
go-kart racing. The WKA establishes the rules and procedures to set standards by
which to sanction tracks and to conduct annual championships for various types
of karting. WKA is the largest karting
sanctioning body in the United States maintaining between 3,000 and 4,000 active members, which are located
in over 40 states, Canada and Europe.
SSP
also feature go karts, quarter midgets and Adult Speedcars at its “Outback
Track” weekly on Friday nights from April to early September as
well.

Susquehanna Speedway Park is located midway between Harrisburg and York off I-83
