NEETS ENDURO SERIES KICKS OFF NEW YEAR WITH THE RETURN OF BEATERS WITH HEATERS…

January 8, 2012 – Wall Township, NJ – The North East Enduro Tour
Series will kick off their 2012 racing season on Saturday January 14th
with the return of “Beaters with Heaters”. The event is a classic
NEETS tradition and this year it will take place at the famed Wall
Township (NJ) Speedway. The Big Car Enduro class will compete in the
“Santa’s Sleigh” 150-lap event and the Small Cars are set to battle in
“The Jingle Bell” 150-lap contest. A 25-lap “Mrs. Clause” Ladies Race
will conclude the afternoon’s festivities.

The Beaters with Heaters event is the first points race of the
season on the NEETS asphalt tour. Drivers will be permitted to compete
under the 2011 rulebook, however, all teams are reminded that they
must comply by the 2012 rules and regulations at the season’s second
event (March 10) and beyond. A complete rulebook can be found on the
tour’s official website, www.neetsracing.com .

When the green lights illuminate on Sunday Jan. 14th, a mix of
experienced and young drivers are expected to grace the field. One of
the all-time active legends in the series, Richard Petey of
Hackettstown NJ will compete in the Big Car 150-lapper. Petey, behind
the wheel of his traditional Richard Petty replica #43 machine, is
hoping to start 2012 on the right foot. Petey is a former NEETS
champion and has been competing in Enduros since the days of the
Nazareth (PA) Speedway dirt half-mile in the 1980s. Petey finished
third in Wall’s most previous NEETS Enduro back on November 27th of
last season.

Speaking of veteran race car drivers, Howie Bott of Budd Lake NJ
will enter another season of competitive enduro racing aboard his #75
machine. Bott has competed at various tracks throughout his
illustrious career including the Flemington (NJ) Fairgrounds.
Recently, Bott has been in position to achieve a top five finish on
several occasions but experienced a lot of tough luck. He hopes to
begin 2012 with a better strand of luck and possibly emerge victorious
in the Beaters with Heaters.

Speaking of experienced drivers, many race fans are familiar with
the name of Bill Stockert. The gentleman race car driver from West
Babylon NY has been twisting the steering wheel since the 1960s. After
spending time in quarter midgets and several championship years of
Figure 8 competition, Stockert became an established fixture in the
Enduro ranks. Just this past season, Stockert raced on both asphalt
and dirt, grabbing a victory at the New Egypt (NJ) Speedway.
Stockert’s #310 machine is already pre-entered for January 14th’s
Beaters with Heaters.

When Wall Township Speedway and NEETS presented its 2011 season
Finale, “The Gobbler” Enduro, Scott Sipe stood triumphantly in victory
lane. Sipe hopes to continue with another victory aboard his powerful
#88 car. Sipe, of York PA, also brings plenty of experience to the
table, but ironically most of his past racing achievements were
attained on the dirt tracks. Sipe, a past Late Model and Stock car
competitor, was the 1989 Thundercar Champion at the Selinsgrove (PA)
Speedway.

In the Four Cylinder (Small Car) division, Pete Verwys of East
Stroudsburg PA was victorious in the NEETS Gobbler event at Wall
Speedway last November 27. The Verwys racing family has been a part of
NEETS enduros throughout past seasons. A pair of second generation
talents, Scott Adams of Lake Ariel PA and Larry Spencer III of
Nanticoke PA are each pre-registered for the upcoming Beaters with
Heaters. Adams is fresh from a runner-up finish at Mountain Speedway
this past Saturday January 7th. The Small Car 150-lap contest will be
the first order of business on Sunday’s racing card.

For Jan. 14th’s Beaters with Heaters, pit gates open for
inspection and registration at 8:00AM. The drivers meeting is slated
for 12:00PM and cars will be called to the speedway for line-up at
12:45 PM. The Small Car 150 begins promptly at 1:00PM. Adult general
admission to the grandstands is just $10 for 325 total laps of action
packed racing. The official NEETS website has been updated with
complete information on this event.

Besides a busy schedule at Wall Township Speedway this season,
NEETS is also excited about their dirt racing on tap at the Grandview
(PA) Speedway and the New Egypt (NJ) Speedway. NEETS will return to
Grandview for an 8-race season (first event is slated for Saturday
March 31st). The New Egypt Saturday Night Series will include 9 events
(opening race is Saturday April 14th).
