ANOTHER SATURDAY NIGHT… ANOTHER LATESTORM
Grandview Speedway…Not a total wash, but couldn’t quite get it in.
Quick results:
A quick THANKS to the Saturday night pit crew who worked their butts off til the storm blew through: Wendy (cupcake thief), Missy, Chris, Patrick, Todd, Al and JD !! The #22 JDT Construction TP Trailers 358 Modified qualified 4th and all feature changes were made to the car. We were to line up 5th in the 30 lap Hatfield Quality Meats main event with 28 starters. But, just before feature time, the rains came hard and fast causing a cancellation of the nights remaining events… the feature is to be made up on Saturday, September 2nd. Before the rains Wayne Pfeil won the 20 lap BRC Late Model feature and the Vintage cars put on a good show for the grandstand full of race fans. Congrats Wayne and team, a great bunch of folks whom have helped ol Geezey often. Wayne’s sister Shani supplied choco chip cookies later in the night !! I like when they win. LOL
Geezer Gab:
· A heartfelt but sarcastic THANKS to those of you who took time out of your busy day to thank me for the shortest Gazette in the 10 year history of Gazettes. Just for that, back to rambling on and makin up stuff that may or may not be true. Unless of course you would like to ‘’unsubscribe’’? Please? HA
· Huge THANKS to Cathy, Kendra, Ava, Hunter, Todd, JD and Al who have been putting in extra hours lately to close out our successful modified rookie debut. Takes team work, and that we have.
· Get better Mrs. Horn ! Ankle injuries are no fun, make Scott wait on you hand and foot (no pun intended).
· A tip of the Saxton Fedora to Jennifer and Scott Guistwite for a hugely successful ‘’back to school’’ giveaway at the track for a couple hundred kids whom were given book bags full of supplies… a few of the 22 team even got some of the goodies !!Ava, Hanna and Hunter each won book bags full of goodies!!
· Was something special cruising up route 100 with JD and Al, towin a race car, like old times… but we did miss havin Cathy in the back arguing about the differences between bubble gum and chewing gum, or looking at the radar for east jabip on race night. LOL. Fun times…
· Thanks 323 team, Brian Housekencht for loaning us a carb to try… we appreciate the offer and will report back with results, thanks Todd Lapp for being the mechanic this week.
· Great to chat with Grant Richards of Giorgio’s Pizza and Subs of Exton, he is about to go worldwide due in part to his involvement with 22 racing ! Great business man, and friend.
· Spent some down time with friends last week and got caught up, thanks Karen, Missy, Wendy, Chris, and Wayne for the hospitality, was fun !!
· Ya gotta admit, the eclipse was a lot of hype, kinda cool but really… I’ll wait for the big one in the year 2520. HA
· Many local tracks had the same luck with weather , so no news from other racers…
