GEEZER ‘TAKES THE HEAT’ !!

QUICK RESULTS:

Another great heat race win in the books for the JDT Construction, Kelly Security # 22 !!  The car was hooked up and under the close eyes of Wendy, Cathy, JD, Todd and Ron for the night, thanks crew !! Our third heat win for the season, and the team enjoyed every lap of the twelve lap sprint while the ol Horn Plumbing, Keystone Air #22 was chased across the checkers by some pretty heavy hitters: Kressley, Cozze, Vondohren, Manmiller, Swinehart, Kratz , Gilmore, and Grim. For the 50 lap feature event , the Exton Beverage, Checkered Flag Bakery #22 crossed the checkers 18th with 28 cars starting the prestigious event, and 37 cars signing in to qualify. We continue to try different things, log laps, and take good notes to get better. Congrats to Craig Vondohren on winning the Forrest Rogers Memorial 50 lapper Saturday night, taking over the points lead and grabbing the $10,000 winner’s check ! Chuck Schutz won the BRC Late Model feature, and John McGovern picked up his first ever feature win in his #323 Sportsman.

GEEZER GAB:

·         First and foremost, on a serious note: Geezer and team raced with very heavy hearts and dedicated the heat win to brother in law Jay whom passed Thursday evening, taken way too soon. Rest in Peace Jay, you will be forever remembered for all the good things you’ve done for so many, including me. ‘’work hard, play hard, cherish family, friends and always be humble’’.
·         Kendra Nathan had Hunter and Jay along for the night watching and rooting the Chap Kistler Log Home Maine Vacation Rental #22, and even came back to the pits after the races and had more fun !! Hunter couldn’t wait to help clean the car Sunday with his Sister Ava Lee !! pictured below.
·         Great to see Joe Adams, Scott Diehl and Eric Whitby after the races, always fun and entertaining. So many good folks stop back after the races, a nice ending to the sometimes stressful race nights.
·         Thanks Staci Mertz and the Swinehart 38 Sportsman team for the jump after the events, battery was low… must have been from Wendy opening and closing the truck doors so many times looking for the goodies !!
·         Special thanks to Margaret and Bruce Kindberg of Bruce’s Speed Shop for the recent kind gesture after reading about last week’s heat race win !!  They are now an honorary ‘’partner’’ for a week !! Check out www.brucesspeed.com for ‘’everything you need for speed’’.
·         Rumor has it that longtime friend and motorsports expert, Mr. Ernie Saxton and his better half ( Marilyn) are heading north this week… I hope to see them. I want to work on publishing a book, maybe they will help get me started… Safe travels !
·         Great to run into Beltsville Furniture owner in the pits, what a surprise !! They make beautiful furniture from the warehouse just above Jim Thorpe, Pa. I recommend the rockers,LOL
·         A special thanks to part time 22 crew member and full time #46 Super Late Model owners Cathy Green and hubby Scott Green for having a ‘’racing team party’’ Sunday at their beautiful home !! So many fun things, great food, drink, and even pool time !! JD even did 10 pushups during a horseshoe grudge match. I think he is out of commission for a few weeks, pulled a muscle… LOL
·         I still continue to include typos, false info and wrong dates, thanks to those who e-mail, text and call me to remind me I need a proof reader… I really don’t. It is to see who is on their toes. HA
