CHUCK SCHUTZ TAKES HOME MORE THAN $2000 AS WINNER OF FIRECRACKER 40 LATE MODEL RACE AT GRANDVIEW, WHITMOYER GETS SECOND WIN OF THE SEASON WITH NASCAR SPORTSMAN, MIKE GULAR GETS FIRST 2017 TP TRAILERS 358 MODIFIED WIN AND BRAD GRIM COMES HOME FIRST IN SECOND SPORTSMAN FEATURE
BRETT PETERS AND ANDY CASSEL SHARE WINS IN TWO VINTAGE FEATURES
Current BRC Late Model point leader Chuck Schutz was able to race off with his second win of the season taking home more than $2,000 as winner of the prestigious Firecracker 40 Late Model Classic on Saturday night at Grandview Speedway.
Craig Whitmoyer, in his Weller’s Chimney Sweep entry, kicked off the night of racing excitement as he won the 25-lap Sportsman feature that had been rained out a couple weeks back giving him his second win of the season.
Veteran racing talent Mike Gular was able to grab his first win of the 2017 season in the TP Trailers 358 Modified feature becoming the 21stdifferent feature winner of the season at Grandview.
Closing out the big night of racing was Brad Grim winning the second 25-lap Sportsman feature of the night becoming the 22nd different feature winner of the season.
Ron Kline came home second in the 40-lap Late Model feature followed by Danny Snyder, Kyle Merkel and Bryon Sipe.
In the first 25-lap Sportsman feature of the night Brad Grim came home second to winner Whitmoyer with Brian Hirthler taking third. Jim Housworth and Jack Butler grabbed fourth and fifth.
The 30-lap TP Trailers Modified feature had Kenny Gilmore getting second behind Gular. Third went to Duane Howard with fourth and fifth going to Frank Cozze and Kyle Borror.
And Jack Butler finished second to Brad Grim in the second 25-lap Sportsman feature followed by Mike Lisowski, Jim Housworth and Ryan Beltz.
Feature victories for the Blast from the Past Vintage racers went to Brett Peters and Andy Cassel.
Four lucky youngsters were able to “ride home” on new bicycles courtesy of Modified racer Kory Fleming and his team and sponsors.
Two TP Trailers NASCAR 358 Modified features along with Sportsman and BRC Late Model racing will be the attraction on Saturday, July 15th at 7:30 p.m. The night of action packed NASCAR stock car racing will be sponsored by A.D. Moyer Lumber Co.
Then on Sunday at 1 p.m. the Blast from the Past Vintage Racers will be in action along with the Outlaw Enduro racers. Enduros offer 100-laps for Big Cars, 100-laps for Small Cars, Junkyard cars for 50 laps and a Ladies race.
