VONDOHREN EARNS FIRST TP TRAILERS 358 MODIFIED WIN OF THE SEASON AT GRANDVIEW SATURDAY NIGHT; BRYON SIPE GETS FIRST BRC LATE MODEL WIN AND BRAD GRIM TOPS THE SPORTSMAN
BECHTELSVILLE, PA JULY 29, 2017…….Who would have thought that it would take Craig VonDohren more than half the season to win a feature at Grandview Speedway? The defending champion was able to wheel to his first win topping the field in the Saturday night 30-lap NASCAR TP Trailers 358 Modified feature making him the 11 different Modified winner this season. Bryon Sipe, enjoying a strong season, was able to pick up the elusive first BRC Late Model 20-lap feature win. Brad Grim took the top spot in the 25-lap Sportsman feature for his second win of the season.
Kenny Gilmore, moving into the Bailey #81, finished a strong second to VonDohren while Hall of Fame Frank Cozze grabbed third. Duane Howard came home fourth followed by Tim Buckwalter.
Past champion Brian Shuey was a second place finisher to Sipe in the Late Models with Danny Snyder, Steve Todorow and current point leader Chuck Schutz following.
Close behind Grim in the Sportsman feature was Mark Kemmerer followed by Joe Funk, Jim Housworth and Craig Whitmoyer.
Next Saturday Grandview presents one of its most prestigious events, the annual Pioneer Pole Buildings Forrest Rogers Memorial. This will be a 50-lapper for the TP Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds paying at least $10,000 to the winner. Also included in the night of excitement will be the BRC Late Models and Sportsman. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m. Adult admission is $25 while youngsters 6 through 11 pay just $5. Children under 6 are admitted free.
The Low Down and Dirty Meet & Greet will feature Pioneer sponsored racers Craig VonDohren, Chuck Schutz, Kevin Hirthler and Brian Hirthler. It takes place at 5 p.m. Rain date for the Forrest Rogers Memorial is August 12th.
