Welcome Geezer Gazette subscribers !! For the true racer, there is no ‘’off season’’… A lot has been going on so here’s the exciting news:
Team 22 will be competing in its 10thstraight season of full time racing and 5th year now solely at the 1/3 mile clay bullring with ‘’Geezer’’ behind the wheel - The Grandview Speedway, located in Bechtelsville, Pa. in the TP Trailers 358 Modifed division!! The NASCAR Whelen All American division 1 class has been the Grandview headliner for over 50 years and for good reason. Joining the TP Trailers 358 Modifieds weekly are the BRC Late Models and Sportsman divisions. Geezer is pulling off the ‘’Grandview Tri-Fecta’’ by competing in all three divisions and very thankful and proud to do so. You WILL want to come out and see the action which starts Saturday, April 1st then every Saturday after into September. The competition level and quality of shows at Grandview really are second to none. Team 22 has been anxious to reach this pinnacle for many years and with the help of some new sponsors and dedication of a great crew, everything is in motion to compete with ‘’the big dogs’’. Al, JD, Hunter and myself have been fixing up a recently purchased open trailer, we’ve lined up a used 2016 Bicknell which is getting a new body put on (by BFP) and will be powered by a Ford 358 spec head motor which is currently getting checked out by Heffentrager Performance out of Pottstown.
A special Thanks to all the crew that is excited to help in various ways this season: Cathy, Al, JD, Bob, Hunter, Ken, Dan and CJ and of course to the loyal sponsors, all of which have given verbal commitment to be involved in this exciting new venture for 2017. They are ( In no particular order): Webmaster –E, Keystone Air, Exton Beverage, Art Smith Landscaping, Weso’s Italian Restaurant and Bar, Giorgio’s Pizza of Exton, and a couple new ones I’m very thankful for: Horn Plumbing and Haly Oil. Without these fine folks, none of this is possible. A ‘’primary’’ sponsor is a necessity in this division, and a search is on for the title sponsor for the #22 358 self-owned Modified. ‘’Marketing through Motorsports’’ is the best bargain for your buck as we will be televised 6 times, radio coverage numerous nights, many interviews, radio shows, car shows, program ads, and on and on… Special thanks to Ernie Saxton whom has been instrumental in my sponsorship successes for over 25 years and going, he is truly the best. Participation of primary will determine how many races we can participate in. We are anticipating great things, thank you all. Also new is that the Geezer Gazette will no longer capitalize ‘’all’’ the G’s! Hahahaha.
