RON KLINE WINS BERNHEISEL RACE CARS NIGHT LATE MODEL FEATURE, STRUNK EARNS SECOND WIN OF SEASON IN MODIFIEDS AND PAPIEZ BECOMES THREE TIME SPORTSMAN FEATURE WINNER AT GRANDVIEW
BECHTELSVILLE, PA August 7, 2016 . . . Former Late Model champion Ron Kline drove to victory for the first time this season winning the 30-lap Bernheisel Race Cars Late Model feature race at Grandview Speedway Saturday night. The Salford, PA race became the seventh different feature winner in the Late Model division. Ten time track champion Jeff Strunk drove to victory in the 30-lap NASCAR T.P.Trailers 358 Modified feature for his second win of the season. Brian Papiez closed out the night of racing action winning the 25-lap Sportsman feature, his third win of the season.
Bryan Sipe finished second to Kline followed by Sean Merkel, point leader Chuck Schutz and Brian Shuey.
Following Modified winner Jeff Strunk across the finish line was Kevin Hirthler, point leader Craig VonDohren, Duane Howard and Mike Gular.
Brett Gilmore came from 21ststarting spot to finish second in the Sportsman feature. Craig Whitmoyer came home third with Dean Bachman and Brad Arnold finishing fourth and fifth.
There have now been 22 different feature winners so far this season spread over the three divisions of competition.
Coming up on Saturday, August 13th is one of the biggest and most prestigious events of the season for the T.P.Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds when the annual Pioneer Pole Buildings Forrest Rogers Memorial is presented. The 50-lap race for the Modifieds offers at least $10,000 to the winner and often attracts some outsiders to test their skills against the outstanding talents that regularly race at Grandview Speedway. The race is run in memory of the founder of the track. In addition there will be racing for the BRC Late Models and Sportsman stock cars. Racing starts at 7:30 p.m.
