PAUCH, JR. TAKES ANOTHER 358 MODIFIED FEATURE AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY

Editor's Note: I just copy and paste the emails from the PR personnel, unfortunately some press releases do not respond well to that so they are not always the best as far as fonts and spacing. I do not have time to retype every Press Release so I am sorry if you are unable to read them.

New Egypt, NJ (August 14, 2016) – On Beach Party Night presented by Hammer Electric at New Egypt Speedway, Billy Pauch, Jr. won the 358 Modified feature. Ryan Godown captured the checkered flag in the Burlington County Overhead Door NEWS Sprint main event. Mick Search topped the field in the Street Stock feature.

After the original start of the 30-lap 358 Modified feature was marred by a caution, a clean restart saw John Pakenham jump to the lead with Doug Ostwald and Tad Cox next in line. By lap four and following two more appearances of the yellow flag, Pakenham was still on top with fifteenth place starting Billy Pauch, Jr. in second. Also on the fourth circuit, the red flag was displayed as a small fire developed on Ryan Godown’s ride. When action resumed, Pauch, Jr. bolted by Pakenham to take the lead. With ten tours completed, Pauch, Jr. was still in command with Bryan Kuhl, David Van Horn, Dominick Buffalino and Godown in pursuit. Five laps later, Van Horn moved into the runner-up position and tried to track down the leader. In the final third of the contest, only a pair of caution periods would slow down Pauch, Jr. as he marched to another feature win at New Egypt Speedway in 2016.  For the year, the younger Pauch has a total of four feature wins this season which includes his victory in the Dirty Jersey event. Van Horn’s strong run resulted in a second place finish. Buffalino’s late race surge allowed him to take third from Godown. With Godown taking fourth, Kuhl completed the contest in fifth. Clay Butler, John McClelland and Bryan Kuhl won the 358 Modified heat races.

In the non-stop 20-lap Burlington County Overhead Door NEWS Sprint main event Ryan Godown was victorious for the third time this year after taking the checkered flag. Brian Spencer jumped to the front as the race got underway. After a side by side battle for the top running position, Lou Cicconi took over the lead from Spencer with seven tours completed. Godown, who has only competed in four races in the division, moved into second on lap eight and started to close in on Cicconi. After a good multi-lap battle, Godown pulled ahead of Cicconi with six circuits remaining. Once in front, Godown began to pull away to gain the win. With Cicconi taking second, Johnny Cornell finished in third. Fourth went to Spencer with Bobby Butler taking fifth. The Burlington County Overhead Door NEWS Sprints qualifying events were taken by Ryan Godown and Brian Spencer.
Mick Search used a last lap pass to claim his third checkered flag of the season in the 20-lap Street Stock feature. Bill Liedtka set the pace for the opening five circuits before John Meyer took command of the race. Search, who started the race in last place, moved into second at the halfway mark. After applying pressure throughout the second half of the contest, Search pulled off the pass for the lead on the final turn to gain the win. With Meyer in second, Todd Dige completed the race in third. Vern McLaughlin and Bill Connelly completed the top five.
