Another Top 10 To Move Up In Points For Dan Green And The NGK Spark
Plugs #46!

Coatesville, PA – August 6,
2016 – With the weather on the iffy side again the G & H Motorsports
team loaded the NASCAR BRC Dirt Late Model #46 into the trailer and headed to
Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville PA. Just as the team was ready to unload
the car at the track for the Low Down and Dirty Meet and Greet a rain shower
passed over. By the time the shower was over there was no time for Dan to take
the car to the front gate but he did walk down, met some fans, and was interviewed
by “Whippy” of the LD&D crew.
Heat Race
The races were delayed by another rain shower which
made the track very wet and “heavy.” When the racing did get underway Dan
started 4th in the second 8 lap heat race. The green flag flew and
the front two cars of #3 Ron Kline and #22 Joe ”Geezer” Fanelli bobbled just
slightly as Dan checked up which allowed the #X4 of Lou Egrie Sr. to get by.
Everything got straightened out just as quickly and the race went green the
entire 8 laps as Dan finished 5th in the event.
Team Fixes Car
With the track so heavy there was a lot of mud on the car so the crew
took the time to remove as much as they could and get the car ready for the BRC
30 Lap Feature.
Feature Event
The Bernheisel Race Components 30 Lap Feature
had Dan starting in the 6th position. The green came out and Dan
jumped to the 3rd spot with one lap completed by going to the
outside and having a good battle with Bryon Sipe #33s. The next lap saw Sipe in
front of Dan, on lap 4 the second running #19 Drew Weisser spun in turn 4 to
bring out the caution and put Dan back in 3rd behind Sipe and pole starter
Kline. The race went green for 2 laps then the red was displayed for #00 Eric
Hoch who hit the wall hard coming out of turn 2. Hoch was able to get out of
the car and walk to the ambulance but was taken to the hospital for
observations. The green came back out and the race stayed green for many laps
as Dan and #118 Sean Merkel put on a great show for everyone as they ran side
by side for about 14 laps before Merkel was able to get by and take 3rd
from Dan. Many time Late Model Champion Chuck Schutz #1 was able to get by Dan
for 4th after a several lap battle as the caution came out with 4
laps left. The caution was not what Dan needed as his tires cooled down too
much and he tried to hold off last week’s feature winner Brian Shuey #177 who
nipped Dan at the checker to have Dan finish 6th. Dan moved into 5th
in drivers points with just 4 races left in the season.
Congratulations
Ron Kline #3 picked up his 1st win
of the season as he has not been a weekly competitor and picked up a ride in
the T & W Racing car. Jeff Strunk #126 got his 2nd of the year
in the T.P. Trailers Modifieds and Brian Papiez #99x drove to his 3rd Sportsman
Feature win of 2016.
Get Well
#00 Eric Hoch who hit the backstretch wall extremely
hard and was able to walk away from the accident but we are sure he is going to
be sore. After being checked out at the hospital, he was cleared to go home.
Welcome To The Races!
In attendance for the first time to Grandview
Speedway were staff from SquireSide CAFÉ. Jerry Leaman and his wife were at
Grandview four years ago but his staff made their first trip to the famed dirt
track in Bechteslville. Dan and the G & H Motorsports team were glad that
they were able to be there to cheer on the SqurieSide CAFÉ #46!
