NHRA TOP FUEL DRAG RACER DOM LAGANA JR. SHOWING OFF TOP FUEL DRAGSTER, RACE EQUIPMENT AND AN ENGINE TEARDOWN (MUST SEE) AT MOTORSPORTS 2016 RACE CAR & TRADE SHOW
OAKS, PA December 28, 2015 . . . Dom Lagana Jr’s National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) drag racing team will be making a must see appearance at the Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports 2016 Fueled by Sunoco Race Fuels and Distributed by Insinger Performance Race Car and Trade Show.
Lagana’s Top Fuel dragster will be on display inside the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA on January 22nd through January 24th. The team will setup its pit area like they would at a national NHRA event and allow fans to tour their work area and the large hauler. Lagana will be available for autographs and crew members will be happy to answer questions.
On both Friday night and Saturday afternoon, the team will be performing a motor rebuild like they would between rounds at a national event. Attendees will be amazed to see in the short amount of time a great deal of work is accomplished
The Scarsdale, NY racer made his Top Fuel debut in 2009 and has been an active drag racer since then. In 2013 he broke a record for a fastest pass in International Hot Rod Association history at the CarSafe Northern Nitro Jam running 330.79mph. He does all his racing in memory of both parents Bobby and Marie Lagana.
Dom and his brother Bobby unveiled a Nitro Funny Car at the July Englishtown NHRA Summernationals. The effort was sponsored by Nitro Ninja, a T-shirt and apparel company owned by him and his brother.
Lagana will be available for a question and answer session at the main stage area and will be signing autographs at the Lagana Racing display.
Just added to the show is the ‘Frantic Ford’ 19691/2 Mustang Mach 1 Funny Car which is owned by drag racing legend “Big Al” Lieberman.
The yellow and black Nostalgia Funny Car this will be seen at Motorsports 2016 is a contemporary recreation of the original race and it is owned and driven by Rocky Pirrone with additional financial and marketing support provided by Lieberman. The history of the car thought actually dates back to the 1960s.
The car is powered by a nitro-fed 426-cubic-inch Chrysler Hemi V-8 engine with Enderle Bug Catcher fuel injection and a GMC 6-71 supercharger.
Simply stated, the “Frantic Ford” is the best of old and new technology.
Lagana will be joining such well-known names in motorsports as NASCAR Sprint Cup racer Kyle Larson, NASCAR Hall of Famer Bud Moore, former IndyCar and NASCAR driver John Andretti with his son rising USAC midget ace Jarrett, USAC standout Dave Darland and a host of other racers and personalities.
More than 200 motorsports vehicles representing drag racing, NASCAR Sprint Cup and everything in between including dirt track racers, motorcycles and more will be on display throughout the show. Race teams looking to gain great exposure for their team and sponsors are invited to contact Tim Hogue at 609.888.3618 to have their race car included.
Exhibit space, very limited, remains available and information, including a color show brochure, can be had at motorsports@aarn.com or telephone 609.888.3618.
The very classy Crowne Plaza Valley Forge will serve as the host hotel and will again offer a discounted rate. The hotel is located just 7.5 miles from the Expo Center and is within walking distance of the popular King of Prussia Mall, the nation’s second largest retail complex with over 350 stores and close to 100 restaurants.
Again this year the Saturday night post show gathering will continue and will be held in one of the large ballrooms at the hotel with music by DJ Sound and Lighting and bar specials from show sponsor Miller Lite.
