151 Cars Fill the Pits for the 11th Annual J&K Salvage Candy Bowl/12th Annual Miller’s Racing Parts Fall Classic Combo at SSP on Saturday

Newberrytown, PA (October 31, 2015) – In the 11th Annual Candy Bowl at the Susquehanna Speedway Park presented by J&K Salvage of York on Saturday, October 31,Brandon Grossowon the non-stop 20-lap Sportsman Modified feature.  Ronnie Peck took the victory in the 20-lap Blast From the Past Vintage Car feature.  Daniel Bair was the ACMS 600cc Micro Sprints Candy Bowl winner by claiming the 15-lap feature event.  Shwecksville’s Jason Rochelle won the 20-lap Legends Cars feature.  Mike Zelionis took the checkers in the first 12-lap Sidewinder Sprint Car feature.   Jason Stahl won the second 12-lap Sidewinder Sprint Car feature.
 
Jasen Geesaman of Lebanon took the checkers in the Street Stock main event to earn $1,000.  The Street Stock feature was one of four divisions featured at the Miller’s Racing Parts Fall Classic portion of the program presented in part with Insinger Performance Fuels.  Bloomsburg’s Keith Bissinger took the lead on lap 31 to win the Xtreme Stock Car 40 lapper.  Eric Boozel of McVeytown claimed the victory in the 30-lap Road Warrior feature.  Red Lion’s Thomas Thompson Richard Wolfe won the 15-lap Mini Van feature event.
 
The non-stop 20-lap Sportsman Modified feature began with the front row starter Brandon Grosso  taking the lead on the start.  Brad Brightbill fell in behind Grosso as the duo began a torid pace around the track.  Brightbill was within striking distance but could not make the pass for the win as Grosso crossed the finish line first.  Daryl Dissinger finished third, followed by Ryan Beltz in fourth.  Craig Whitmoyer rounded out the top five.  Brightbill and Grosso won their respective heat races.  
 
Brian Gagliardo grabbed the early lead in the 20-lap Blast from the Past Vintage Car feature event.  On lap 7, Gagliardo retired from the race, giving the lead to Kevin Kuzer.   Kuzer set the pace, but lost the top spot to Ronnie Peck with two laps remaining.  Peck went on to claim the checkers over Kuzer.  Dennis Drain finished third, followed by Tom Orth and Mike Garris in fourth and fifth places respectively.    
 
Daniel Bair led from start-to-finish to win the 15-lap ACMS 600cc Micro Sprint Car feature over John Scarborough and Alan Rhoads in second and third place podium finishes.  Jake Frye finished fourth, followed by Gary Kratzer in fifth.  Scarborough also won the sole heat race for the division.
 
In the first of two Sidewinder Sprints features, Mike Zelionis took the lead on the start and never looked back to take the checkers over Lance Yeager.  Rohan Beasley finished third, followed by Jason Stahl and Matt Kreider in fourth and fifth places respectively. 
 
In the second 12-lap Sidewinder Sprints feature, Stahl led from the green-to-checkers but at the end only edged out Beasley at the finish.  Yeager claimed third over Zelionis in fourth and Brandon Yarle
tt in fifth place. 
 
The 50-lap Street Stock feature event began with Jasen Geesaman leading from the start of the race from outside the front row.  Jasen Townsend fell into the runner-up spot with Eddie Richards in third.  Geesaman set the pace and never faltered to go and lead every lap to win the race.  Townsend finished second with Eddie Richards in third.  Scott Thunberg and Walt Lemmon finished fourth and fifth respectively.  Richards and Lemmon were disqualified from the race following post-race inspection for cheating.  This moved Thunberg to third with Bobby Kupp and Wayne Dutterer Jr. nor officially finishing fourth and fifth respectively.  Geesaman, Townsend and Thunberg were the heat race winners.  Mike Potts won the consolation race.    
 
The 40-lap Xtreme Stock Car race had Brian Walls jump out to the early lead over Jim Jacobs.  On the fifth lap, Johnny Palm moved in behind Walls with Keith Bissinger close behind.  Ten laps later, Bissinger scooted by Palm and set his sights on the leader.  On lap 31, the caution flag flew and close up the field.  On the restart, Bissinger made a move to the high side and was able to finally get by Walls to take over the spot and went on to take the victory over Walls.  Palm settled for third with Craig Wagaman coming across the line in fourth.  Alex Updegraff finished fifth.  Bob Bussey. Walls and Jacobs were the heat race winners.     
 
In the 30-lap Road Warriors feature event, Travis Brown took the early lead from outside the front row.   Eric Boozel took the top spot away from Brown on lap 3.   Matt Chronister moved into the top spot on the 7th circuit and led until lap 25 when Garrett Watkins took over the lead position for one lap.  Boozel regained the leader position on the 26th circuit and went on to take the victory over Brain Rehbein.  Tim Osheehan finished third, followed by Brandon Hedstrom in fourth.  Chronister rounded out the top five.   
 
Thomas Thompson led from start-to-finish to take the checkers in the 15-lap Mini Van feature over Dennis Dorosz.  Roy Denike finished third, followed by Zakari Kitner in fourth.  Kayla Robertson finished in fifth. 
 
Before the midget feature began, the cars and drivers in all divisions were brought to the frontstretch for the large crowd of children in costumes to trick or treat.  This was also a great opportunity for everyone to visit their favorite drivers to get pictures and autographs.

November 14 (Sat.)  The Final Showdown (6th Annual) – 410 Sprint Car Finale ($10,000-to-win) & 358 Sprint Cars (2:00
p.m.) – Rain date: Sunday, November 15, 2015.         
 
 
The SSP Final Showdown paying $10,000-To-Win on Saturday, November 14 Brings a Close to Central PA Racing Season
 
On Saturday afternoon, November 14, the Susquehanna Speedway Park will host The Final Showdown for the Super (410) Sprint Cars in the Central PA area as well as the entire United States for 2015.  Also included in this special program will be the popular 358 Sprint Cars.  The raindate will be Sunday, November 15.   
 
The 410 Sprint Car feature event will be 30-laps and pay the winner $10,000 if the driver is pre-entered on or before Monday, November 9.  Anyone entering the event on Tuesday, November 10 or after will receive $5,000-to-win.  The race will also pay $300 to start the feature.  Tow money ($50.00) for non-qualifying drivers will only be paid to those who pre-entered before November 9.   For the 410 Sprint Cars, mufflers WILL NOT be required.  All other rules of the Central PA 410 Sprint Cars will prevail for this event including the current Central PA Hoosier tire rule.   Raceivers will be mandatory. 
 
The 410 Super Sprint Cars will qualify in time trials with the top six automatically qualifying for the 30-lap feature.  The top six will be inverted for the feature and will not attempt to qualify through the heat races.  The remaining cars will qualify for the 30-lapper through heat races and last chance races.
The 358 Sprint Car feature event will be 20-laps and pay the winner $2,000 if they are pre-entered on or before Monday, November 9.  Anyone entering the event on Tuesday, November 10 or after will receive $1,500-to-win.  The race will also now pay and increased amount of $200 to start the feature.  Tow money ($50.00) for non-qualifying drivers will only be paid to those who pre-entered before November 10.   The tire rule will be the same used at the regular PA 358 Sprint Car tracks.  All other rules of the Central PA 358 Sprint Cars will prevail for this event.  Mufflers are not required for the 358 Sprint Cars.  Raceivers will be mandatory.
For the 358 Sprint Cars, the starting positions for the qualifying heat races will be aligned through a blind draw at the pit gate on the day of the event.  The feature lineup will be determined by heat race number one winner drawing for an inversion (1,3,6,9) or (1,2,4,6,8) depending on the number of heat races. 
As an extra bonus, all pre-entrants will be able to draw a second time for a starting position if he or she does not like their first draw for position.  However, the entrant must take the second drawn spot regardless of whether or not it is a better starting position. 
Pre-entry for the event was not mandatory, but highly encouraged to receive the benefits of pre-entering.  A Pre-entry with the fee ($50.00) must be postmarked by Monday, November 9, 2015.  All entries postmarked on or after Tuesday, November 10, 2015 will not receive the bonus winner’s pay, tow money if not qualified and the choice for second pill draw.  Entries will be taken on the day of the event.  The entry fee includes a complimentary pit pass for the driver.
Gates will open for both the pit area at 11:30 a.m. and grandstand area at 12:00 p.m. with racing action beginning at 2:00 p.m.   
 
General Admission Grandstand ticket prices for Saturday are Adults (ages 18-59) $20.00; Young Adults (ages 11-17) & Senior Adults (60 & Older) $15.00; Children (10 & under) are free.  Pit pass prices are $30.00 for everyone.  The minimum age requirement to purchase a pit pass is 12 years of age with a copy of a birth certificate is required for all ages 12 to 14.  The Entry Fee for the Driver includes the pit pass with the entry.

- Track Rental for the “Big Track” and the “Outback Track” – The “Big track” and the “Outback track” are available for rent beginning March 1, 2015.  The “Big Track” rental fee is $1,500.00 for 4 hours and may be split between a maximum of five-(5) drivers/teams.  Only one car is permitted on the track at a time.  If an ambulance is requested, it is an additional $75.00 per hour.  For nighttime rentals at the “Big Track”, an additional $100.00 per hour will be charged for lights. 
 
The rental price for the “Outback Track” is $400.00 for 4 hours during the day /$500.00 at night and may be split between a maximum of five-(5) drivers/teams.  To reserve either track, please call 717-292-1696. 

- Repeat Fan Discount Continues for 2015 – The popular “Repeat Fan Discount” program will continue at SSP in 2015 for the 12th season in a row.  There is a $2.00 repeat fan discount for each person with a ticket stub from races during the previous week’s events completed only.  The Repeat Fan Discount is not valid for pit pass purchases.
