Bridgeport Speedway Friday and Saturday Results

 
BILL THOMAS MEMORIAL WEEKEND – FRIDAY
THOMAS & MILLER PICK UP GUARANTEED STARTING SPOTS
 
     Luke Thomas (600cc) and Ken Miller, Jr.  (270cc) collected guaranteed starting positions for Sunday’s Bill Thomas Memorial main events.  Both drivers will be added into the redraw with the drivers who qualify on Sunday.  Geoff Carey won the ServPro Four Cylinder Enduro feature.
 
     The 2014 600cc Micro Sprint champion, Luke Thomas recorded his second win of the season in the 20-lap wingless 600cc Micro Sprint feature.  After being involved in an opening lap accident, Thomas went to the rear of field on the restart.  Within six laps, Thomas had worked his way through the field and took the lead from Jay Hartman.  Thomas raced unchallenged for the remaining distance to claim the win.  Jay Hartman held on for second followed by James Morris, Sam LaMothe and Steve Bracall.
 
     In 270cc action, Ken Miller, Jr. restarted fourth on the lap six restart and by the completion of lap seven was the new leader of the event.  Miller passed Tyler Reinhardt, Logan Diehl and Kyle Spence down the homestretch to gain the lead.  Once in front Miller pulled away from the field.  Diehl outlasted Reinhardt for second while Kenny Miller, III was fourth and R.J. Magyari finished fifth.
 
     Geoff Carey passed Art Knapp on lap 12 for the win to collect his first Bridgeport Speedway checkered flag in the ServPro Four Cylinder Enduro feature event.  Justin Dunn and Terry Sammons finished second and third respectively.
 
     Following the feature events, time trials were held for the winged 600cc Micro Sprints and the Slingshots.  Fast timer in the winged 600cc Micro Sprints was Chris Locuson while the fast-timer for the Slingshots was Rich Partite.  Each driver received $100 for their efforts.  Locuson received a guaranteed starting position in Saturday’s 40-lap winged 600cc Micro Sprint feature.  Partite will be given a guaranteed starting spot in Sunday’s “King of the “Sling 40-lap Slingshot feature.

BILL THOMAS MEMORIAL WEEKEND – SATURDAY
THOMAS REPEATS FRIDAY NIGHT FEAT
 
     Luke Thomas collected the $1500 winner’s share in the 40-lap winged 600cc Micro Sprint feature.  Aaron Bowes and Brian Carber split the twin 15’s for the Xcel 600cc Modifieds.  John Comandini won the non-stop feature for the Stage-1 Modifieds and Billy Cropper collected $1000 to win 30-lap Delaware Super Trucks main event sponsored by Courtesy Chevrolet of Salisbury, MD.
                                                                                                                
     For Luke Thomas it was a repeat of Friday night as he was involved in an early race incident and went to the rear of the field.    Andrew Locuson led the opening laps of the feature until Walton passed him for the lead on lap four.  A three car battle for the lead resulted between Walton, Jeff Hartman and Locuson.  Hartman made an expected exit on lap nine.  Then Brian Carber made his presence known actually passing Walton for the lead only to have his motor expire.  On the restart, Walton continued to lead over Bobby Butler and Jermain Godshall.  Butler than spun while running second.  At halfway, Walton led over Godshall, James Morris and Thomas in fourth.  Thomas passed Morris and then Godshall for second.   Thomas passed Tyler Walton with just three laps remaining and held Walton off on the races final restart with one to go to collect his second win of the weekend.
 
     Aaron Bowes and Brian Carber shared win in the twin 15’s for the Xcel 600 Modifieds.  Bowes passed early race leader, Luke Harrar and then held of Carber to record the win in the opening feature.  Korey Inglin, Richie Hitzler and Jason Dunkleberger completed the top five in the first feature.  In the second feature, Jon Josko led until two to go when Carber grabbed the lead.  Josko held onto second over Hitler, Josh Pepe and Bowes.  Carber was the overall winner between the features.
 
     Billy Cropper received a $1,000 pay day for winning the 30-lap Delaware Super Trucks.  Smith led the opening laps until he spun exiting the fourth turn.  Robert Reed inherited the lead and held on until Cropper took control with seven laps remaining.  David Smith made a late race bid for the win but fell short settling for second.  Robert Reed was third followed by Robert Pacman and Robert Smith.
 
     John Comandini won the non-stop 20-lap feature for the Stage-1 Modifieds over Joel Smith and Kyle Hearn.
