IRONTON TELEPHONE CO. SIGNS ON AS ALLENTOWN INDOOR RACE PRESENTING SPONSOR; ENTRIES POURING IN, TICKETS SELLING FAST
TRENTON, NJ/ALLENTOWN, PA . . . The inaugural running of indoor races in Allentown, Pa.’s PPL Center has attracted attention from drivers and owners who are signing up in great numbers and from fans who are purchasing reserved seat tickets rapidly.
The race date is Saturday, January 2, 2016, with competition beginning at 7pm.
The interest in the Len Sammons Motorsports Productions (LSMP) is also attracting marketing partners.
Ironton Telephone Company, a reliable telecommunications staple that has served in the Lehigh Valley since 1909, has come aboard as a presenting sponsor for the inaugural.
The event is part of a three race indoor series that includes the wildly popular annual events in Atlantic City, NJ on January 29 & 30 at Boardwalk Hall and in Trenton, NJ on February 27 & 28 at the Sun National Bank Center.
Plans for the Allentown inaugural call for two divisions of racing featuring two classes of cars.
The powerful open-wheel Three Quarter (TQ) Midgets will be featured with a maximum of 64 entries being accepted in the premier class.
Slingshots, identically built cars that resemble Modified stock cars, will also compete in the one-day event. A maximum of thirty entries are being accepted for this class which is close to capacity. Those contemplating being part of the first LSMP race at Allentown’s PPL Center are encouraged to do so without delay.
A strong Lehigh Valley regional presence is expected in the TQ Midgets. Top drivers from the area who have competed in the Indoor Series in the past include Earl Paules (Palmerton), Zane Zeiner (Bath), Tim Buckwalter (Royersford), Matt Janisch (Nazareth), Brandon Azzalina (Saylorsburg), Pat Bealer (Slatington) and Matt Roselli (Brodheadsville).
For regional pride to prevail with ultimate victory, the area’s best will need to take on and outrace past Indoor winners Erick Rudolph (Buffalo, NY), Ted Christopher (Plainville, CT), Anthony Sesely (Matawan, NJ), Joey Payne (Fairlawn, NJ) and Mike Lichty (Innerkip, Ontario, Canada).
“The Lehigh Valley has a rich racing tradition with the Allentown Fairgrounds, Dorney Park Speedway and the Nazareth half mile and mile tracks,” said LSMP’s Len Sammons. “Those events drew thousands of people. We want our event to capitalize on the rich Lehigh Valley racing heritage, and begin to write our own chapter in the region’s racing history.”
Tickets for all PPL Center events are available for purchase exclusively through PPLCenter online, by phone at 610-347-TIXX, or in person at the Mealey's Furniture Box Office located on 7th & Hamilton St. at PPL Center.
LSMP is currently seeking additional marketing partners for this exciting first time event, including title sponsorship. Contact 609-888-3618 for more information.
