STILLWAGGON, NARDELLI, HARTMAN & KING TAKE OPENING NIGHT HONORS

Ryan Stillwaggon scored his first career with the TSRS 305 Sprints in the opening night feature for the traveling series.  Lee Nardelli continued his dominance in wingless competition for the 600cc Micro Sprints by taking his fourth straight win dating back to September of last year.  Jay Hartman won the 270cc Micro Sprint while Joe King, Jr. picked up where he ended the season by winning the Four Cylinder Enduro feature.

By luck of the invert, Stillwaggon started on the pole.  A quick yellow on the initial start eliminated Tim Tanner from competition and sent Mike Haggenbottom to the pits with a flat. Haggenbottom rejoined the field.    Stillwaggon quickly pulled away from Jeff Geiges as the race run under green.  Bob DeVault, who started twelfth was on the move.  DeVault was third by lap 6 when Dave Brown spun in between turns three and four.  Again Stillwaggon pulled away from the field on the restart.  By halfway Stillwaggon had stretched his lead to a half a straightaway as DeVault passed Geiges for second.  DeVault caught Stillwaggon and passed him for the lead on lap 16 when the final yellow of the event flew.  On the restart, Stillwaggon went to the cushion and passed DeVault and went on for the win.  DeVault was second followed by Adam Carberry.  Haggenbottom came from the back of the field for fourth with Ed Wagner fifth.

Nardelli grabbed the lead from Jay Hartman with an outside to inside move on the first lap and never looked back.  Nardelli who has now won four wingless events in a row distanced himself from the rest of the field in the non-stop event.  Jay Hartman finished second with Jermain Godshall third.  Jeff Hartman and Rob Vivona completed the top five.

Doing double duty, Jay Hartman jumped into his 270cc Micro Sprint and started ninth in the feature event.  By lap 2, Hartman had the lead.  Sean Huesser finished second with Dave Nelson, John Blanda and Billy Gray completing the top five.

Joe King, Jr. won the non-stop feature event for the Four Cylinder Enduros.  King was followed over the finish line by Art Knapp, Carly Rocap, John Gray and Chris Sammons.
