GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY KICKS OFF 53RD CONSECUTIVE SEASON OF EXCITING AUTO RACING ACTION WITH FREE TO THE PUBLIC PRACTICE SESSION ON MARCH 28TH
BECHTELSVILLE, PA January 2, 2015 . . . Saturday night NASCAR stock car racing will once again be the mainstay of a busy schedule of auto racing announced by track owner Bruce Rogers for his Grandview Speedway.
The very popular one-third-mile, clay banked oval will kick off the 53rd consecutive season of auto racing on Saturday, March 28th with a free-to-the-public practice session that has a 12 noon starting time.
Once again the award winning racing facility will offer a very busy schedule that includes quite a variety of events including the standard Saturday night NASCAR Modifieds, Late Models and Sportsman along with 410 Sprints, Modifieds, ARDC Midgets, 305 Sprints, USAC and Renegade Sprints, Enduro competition and Blast From the Past Vintage racing.
It is expected that 10-time NASCAR 358 Modified champion Jeff Strunk will return to action this season along with three-time NASCAR Sportsman champion Jared Umbenhauer. There will be no defending Late Model champion as the 2014 champion Randy Stoudt has retired leaving the top spot up for grabs.
Topping the Saturday night schedule in 2015 will be the rich Freedom 76 Modified Classic on September 12th. The 76-lap race will reward the winner with $25,000 plus added perks. This will be the 45th annual edition of the richest event for the Modifieds in the area. Again, as in past years, the rain date for the Freedom 76 is the following Saturday, September 19th.
Included in the 76er weekend will be Friday night action that will feature the Race of Champions Sportsman stock cars and 305 Sprints.
The Forrest Rogers Memorial featuring the NASCAR Modifieds and sponsored by Pioneer Pole Buildings will take place on Saturday, August 8th and will see the winner walking off with at least $10,000. A rain date, if needed, is set for August 15th.
Another very popular Saturday night event is the LIBS Firecracker 40 for the BRC Late Models giving that division their richest event of the season. Always a fan favorite show the July 4th event will include another great Fireworks display.
Again in 2015 Bob Miller and Bruce Rogers will team up to present the Thunder on the Hill Series, the 26th edition, which will feature a variety of racing competition. The Series will kick off on Saturday, May 24th with a 5-25s show that will feature 25-lap features for Modifieds, Sportsman, ARDC Midgets, 305 Sprints and Legends cars.
Enduro Racing will be featured in at least seven Sunday afternoon programs starting with Sunday, March 29th at 1 p.m.
Season tickets, offering reserved seating for all Saturday night racing action from March through September, are available for just $350.
