NARDELLI RACES TO HIS SECOND WINGLESS WIN OF THE SEASON
Sicklerville, NJ (October 8, 2014) – At Bridgeport Speedway’s qualifier for the Bill Thomas Memorial Race on Friday, October 3, Lee Nardelli raced to his second wingless 600cc Micro-Sprint feature win of the season.
Nardelli earned the fourth starting spot in the 20-lap feature by finishing second in the first heat race. In the main event, the driver from Bridgeton, NJ began to move towards the front by driving past PJ Williams for third place with five circuits completed. On the tenth lap, second place running Sam Locuson dropped out the event and Nardelli advanced into second behind Chris Locuson. One tour later, Chris Locuson retired from the contest and Nardelli inherited the lead. Once on top, Nardelli remained in command for the rest of the race. He credits the win to the setup adjustments prior to the main event. “After the heat race, I really wasn’t confident in the car. My dad and I talked and made some changes for the feature,” stated Nardelli. Although he drives the car, Nardelli was quick to point out the help and support from others. “Without the continued support of my dad, my girlfriend Susan, and Craig Weber of Weber’s Automotive, the success that I have had would not be possible,” commented Nardelli. With the victory, Nardelli has earned a guaranteed starting spot in the Bill Thomas Memorial which is slated for Saturday, October 18 at Bridgeport Speedway.
